I'm a little over an hour west of Madison...probably not much help unless there's a ride from IL north to the border.
Let me know if for some reason that works out for you.

Plymouth, IN looks like it's quite a ways North and East of me. (Think Champaign Urbana roughly).. But if plans change to come through ILL-ANNOY possibly avoiding Chicago traffic, keep me in mind.

That last pic doesn't surprise me one bit, Mavis was always on the watch during the drive and she is  pretty agile.

all that until she fell asleep

I hope Mavis does that for you and your wife, @dphill  .

AND...you Halloween decorations are awesome!  Do you get many trick-or-treaters there?

ETA:  She was guarding you the whole time.

Don't be fooled.  Her senses are RAZOR SHARP.  When she appeared to be sleeping, she was looking for threats on other dimensions.

I'm only kinda kidding.

She's on a 20' chain, she isn't a flight risk but she is a squirrel risk
All the dogs regardless of their status have always been on a chain out front of the house
Yes we get about 100 or so trick or treaters here. I enjoy it...I was a kid once, many many years ago

Awesome..
this time of year is one of my dogs favorites.
He's out on a 30 ft lead and uses the leaf piles as natural camo.

The squirrels are busy burying for winter and not very attentive... prime stalking for my old guy.

He doesn't kill them anymore at age 12 but is visibly pleased with himself when he gives them heart attacks by getting within a foot or two before they notice.
