Oh boy

I just lost my GSD Monday, RIP Zelda

Shoot me an IM with any info you have, my biggest concern is we watch our 4 year old grandson
M-F evenings. Zelda was 6 when the boy was born so she was very tolerant with being poked and prodded
by the boy as he grew.

Ok, the dog is in Ohio, and the onboard wife is in WI, do I have that right?

So, I live in Illinois, someone PM me if any help is needed for transport - either financial or underground railroad style...

If imperfectlyperfect3 and Kitties-with -Sigs would grace us with their attention to the matter at hand…

Perhaps we would have an answer.

That’s the best part of a SFDR dog.

Comes with free delivery by any means necessary as well as Unlimited Lifetime Arfcom support.

Where else you going to find a deal like that?

@dphill

I’m a few hours west on the Minnesota border and ready to assist with any arrangements required.

Alert Imperfectlyperfect3 and Kitties-with-Sigs.
They are the principles and will move quickly to provide information on Mavis.

If you can't tell by my avatar I'm a sucker for rescues.

I'm west of you and could meet you somewhere on I94 and transport the pup west into North Dakota or Montana if there is a home this way.

Sounds like it’s taken care of.

I’m in Oklahoma and can help with transport if needed.

I was slightly interested but need to ask. I’ve wanted a GSD since I was a kid and never had one.

What would I be in for as far as attention and exercise?

They want to please, and are watching "their" person to key off that person for what is expected.

The mistake I see folks make with GSDs is failing to give them appropriate obedience training, and to participate with the dog in that training.  Training like that (if it's any good) teaches the person to read the dog, and teaches the dog what is expected.

It also turns what can be a big, powerful troublemaker into a good citizen, and a dog that is the best thing that could ever happen to a human being.

Once you are owned by a GSD, it's hard to ever go back to not having one.

I've had rotties.  I love rotties.   But a GSD is something...special.

They need room to run and a fence that they either cannot jump (that's a high fence) or are taught to NOT jump.

They are smarter than you are.  Don't underestimate that.  (smarter than I am, for certain, and I've worked with them as  SAR dogs for 30 years.)

Interesting. Thank you.

The training I am not too worried about and can and absolutely would provide and participate in.

I’m just not sure I am at a point in life to be able to spend enough time with them.

Sometimes I work late and a 1-2 mile walk would even be a stretch.

As a matter of fact it does..

When she arrives, PM me the name of your favorite local pub,  I’ll toss a gift card in the mail.  Take the family out to dinner to celebrate, on me.

First two pics you can feel the energy pouring right through the computer monitor.
