One of those is mounted on a Browning Auto-5 (or Remington equivalent) in the Oklahoma Arms Museum northeast of Tulsa.

Is that a rocket shotgun that is shoulder fired? That is awesome even if it isn’t that.

Here is the beginning of the Wiki page: “The Fliegerfaust (lit. "pilot fist","plane fist", or "aviator fist"), also known as the "Luftfaust" (lit. "air fist"), was a German prototype of an unguided, man-portable, multi-barreled ground-to-air rocket launcher, designed to destroy enemy ground attack planes.” It was a 20mm recoilless multibarrel weapon. View Quote Cool pic. I never seen or heard of them until Dragon released some 1/35 figure set in the 90s called Nachtjaeger. I was intrigued. The Luftfaust has nothing to do with night fighting but it got my interest. |

While this doesn't seem practical for shooting down planes, I could definately see it having other uses.
The Germans certainly were innovative during that period |

That is not even factoring in lead angles and firing under extreme stress. Real training prior to issue had to be virtually nil as would have been actual live fire training. IIRC however it fired all rounds in a single salvo so that may have helped. |

View Quote From my book research it was fired in 2 salvos, 4 or 5 rockets then .5 seconds later the remaining rockets were fired, this was so they wouldn’t interfere with the rocket next to them |

Neat! Gonna come out with book #2?
Did the school foundation send you that thank you letter? |

Obviously not historically accurate but both of them items existed at the same time View Quote Ah, a Nydar. Neat piece of early reflex sight. You actually got the case as well. Mine are just sights with bases. |

Never heard of this system.
But I DID buy your book! Do it again. |

View Quote The purpose of short range air defense is not to shoot down aircraft. If that happens, great, but the actual goal is to make them not hit what they want. |
