Got a friend wanting to sell his Fender Blues jr Tweed for $250. Is there anything I need to lookout for on the MIM models?

Sounds like a steal to me. Those have the Jenson speaker and sound great.
Of course you'll want to plug it in and play it for awhile. Make sure it gets good and warmed up. |

Great little amps.. The Jensen speaker is mo better than the ones in other Blues Jrs.
Have one MIM black tolex. Not a hi gain monster, does spanky cleans. They take pedals well, and the reverb is great Fender reverb. There are Mod kits, based on the Bill M mods if you are into that sort of thing. |

I had a Mexican built Blues Jr, but it had the Fender Special Design speaker, which got swapped for a Greenback. With the Greenback, that thing would do Marshall tones all day long when you cranked it.
