For a while I’ve been drinking either Russle’s Reserve 10yr (~40$) or Makers Mark Cask Strength (~50$). Looking for something else easy to find around that price range... any recommendations?

I've been on a Woodfords Reserve kick for a while.

Pretty smooth imo.

Four roses small batch select.

Heaven Hill 6yr (very cheap but very good)

Evan Williams Bottled in Bond

Elijah Craig barrel proof

Russell reserve single barrel

Wild turkey 101

E H Taylor small batch is good and usually in that price range but has been a bit hard to find lately and prices are going up.

If you see it less  than $50 ($45 or lower is what I would spend on it) it is worth a try.

I'll second EH Taylor but I've been drinking Willett Pot Still Reserve lately and I think I like it better. May be easier/harder to find depending on your area.

Knob Creek

9 years old and 100 proof. $49.99 for 1.75ml

Can't beat it IMO

Another vote for the Elijah Craig.   Pretty good bourbon for the money.

Of course hard to beat regular old Makers Mark too.

I’m a simple man.

I tried Buffalo trace. And many many others on arf.

But I like what I like. And I keep going back to the $25 bottle. It’s just nice. And I like it more than eagle rare.

I’ll still buy other stuff.

But it’s my personal favorite so far.

Four Roses single barrel is around $40 here and tastes very good to me

That's a good pour and makes a hell of an old fashion.

My go to is Jefferson's Ocean or Yellowstone 101, but for a daily Woodford is hard to beat.

Centerfire Systems is just down the road from Woodford Reserve.  The Woodford Reserve cherries are very popular.  You can order them online if you aren't able to find them locally.

If you have a Total Wine around, go buy a bottle of Lonehand Whisky.

Don't get so wrapped up in name brands and sticker prices.

Do some blind taste testing and embarrass your snooty acquaintances.

Yeah, I drank some tonight.

Same here.  I have a lot of higher costing bourbon that are more complex, but Buffalo Trace has always been a favorite.  It's just good, and I like it.

Russell's Reserve has been a go-to for me lately.

Four Roses Small Batch Select when I want something spicier and stouter.

1792 Full Proof.

Woodford Reserve double oaked.

Smoke wagon straight bourbon. 30 bucks a bottle and damn good. MGP juice, higher on rye side and delicious

Don't actually do this. I worked for them when that product was introduced. Ever wondered what George Dickel's rejected barrels taste like?

I’m a fan of blind tasting and underdogs.

That said, this whiskey is fucking awful.  Please stop recommending spirits.  Don’t buy lonehand, or any total wine brands for that matter, unless your plan is to mix in coke.

Instead, buy WT101, Evan Williams BiB, or early times.  Any of these will make Lonehand taste like drain cleaner, which it basically is.

If you haven't given Wild Turkey 101 an honest shot, do
Old Forester 1920
Breckenridge Bourbon high proof or reserve
Knob Creek 9 year
Stagg JR if you like high proof and aren't afraid to spend a bit more.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed, around $45 for me, is a great daily if you like a little higher proof.  Think it's 116 proof.

Um.....that’s tough. I like both equally, I’d be hard to pick just one over the other.

I'll throw something different in to the mix:

Nine Banded Wheated Bourbon.  It is supposedly a "Texas" whiskey, but their Wheated is sourced from MGP.

Pretty tasty, IMO.  I get it at Total Wine here in TX.

Had it. Not bad, but more expensive than it's worth. MGD 114 or Evan Williams bib are better for $10+ less.

Another vote for Four Roses Single Barrel.    It is priced at about $40 near me.   For about $20, Larceny is also pretty good
