Nice looking car, but that care and feeding is going to sting.

I honestly don't remember what I used.

That particular car is ceramic coated though, so there will usually be more beading than wax or a sealer.

Winter service completed...

Had a small oil leak from the oil pan gasket.  Only way to do it right was to pull the motor.  Checked over valve train and replaced some other gaskets while it was out.  LS3 block with forged internals.  1000 horse power built and tuned myself.

JFC!!!  I generally don't like "classics" or cars that I can't really track on a road course but this wins the thread imo.

I love it.

No, no tri-power. Considering the 326 V8 I replaced was rated at 240hp and the car still has it's original 2 speed transaxle rear end  (7" ring and pinion included). I went kind of mild on the build. It has a 389 out of a 62 Catalina. I was bored 0.010" over with aluminum pistons, a balanced rotating mass, has a medium cam and a 650 cfm edelbrock carb. I estimate hp is around 325 to 340.

At what price per share does the split window arrive? Unfortunately, I don't have as many shares are you, but I've made a few bucks off of it and holding some "free" shares. You seem to be living right.

Tripower would be great on that. Wouldn't put too many more hp on the build but the sound of those three Rochester 2GC at WOT is so much more than anything you could have imagined. Trust me. I had TP on my 67 GTO. I loved the sound of those carbs at WOT and it won't hurt your overall build. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see how this one progresses!

By the way the 62 Catalina donor of the 389 should have had a nodular iron crank and forged rods. Great foundation for a high hp engine!

Gorgeous, congratulations! Great spec too with the buckets and ceramics. I secretly wish my 991.1 RS were manual, but I’m not entirely sure I could tame it that way.

I had to use the crank out of my 63 326 V8 because of the unique drive train. The 326 crank in that one model year bolted directly to the drive line and the transaxle is at the rear of the car. I had it mag particle inspected and it was said to be in nearly perfect condition. TBH I'm not sure what rods were used in the build but they were all weighed and balanced along with the aluminum pistons and the entire rotating mass. The guy who built my engine is HIGHLY respected in the Pontiac world and builds his own drag cars along his own classic car restoration business (specializing in Pontiacs) This was in his shop the last time I was there.

Because it is a 2 speed and it has a 2.90 rear end this is not a drag car but it sure make pretty noises once I get it up to 4-6k rpm.

Washed my car for the first time in 6 months. Also replaced the shitty runflats with Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R's.

Nice to see the color pop again, which is why I fell in love with this thing when I saw it among a sea of silver and black cars at the dealer.

Planning on doing a detail next month, claybar and paint correction.

I also have a 2020 CTR.  Weekend car is a Cayman, and I think the CTR is faster than the Cayman on a road course.  It's like driving a race car to work.  Boost blue looks great.

Looks like a fun drive. What's on the hood of the Camaro around the 2:40 mark? Also, I'm a bit jealous of your roads.
