I didn't know this so I thought I'd share.

I have a MGMN150 insert parting tool and was getting ready to buy a MGMN200 insert parting tool.

I didn't know they make a high positive version of the insert.  (MGGN150, MGGN200, MGGN250, MGGN300, MGGN400)

Then I found MGGN200R. The insert is biased to the right so it will part off a workpiece much cleaner. It's easy enough to feed until the stock cleans up after the workpiece is gone.

My lathe has a dro so it will be crazy easy to part stuff off dead on size and with a nice clean face. All that would be needed is light deburring.

I'll post once I get the tool and inserts in and how they work.

Most carbide parting inserts will have a neutral, left hand, and right hand geometry available.  Really helpful especially on simple 2-axis lathes where, when coupled with an ID pre-parting chamfer, can avoid a second operation deburring the cuttoff end.
