I just bought a pair of knipex cobra to replace my 20 year old channel locks, US made branded channel locks, that I finally wore out.

They are so much nicer I should have bought some years ago.

Most my hand tools are 20+ year old USA made stuff. Am I missing out on any other innovative must have tools?

The Knipex pliers wrench are great, first found out about them on Arf for roll pins on lowers. Started with the 10", and then when they became so useful around the house, have added the 5,7 and 12s as well. I also have the same sizes in the Cobras. My mish mosh of Kobalt and other brands have been delegated to the truck tool bag, and another bag of tools at another property I own.

I just now got some Knipex diagonal cutters and needle nose in 5" for some wiring projects at the house. Now I see some of those in larger sizes coming soon...

Knipex tools really are well made.
Just be aware of Chinese knock-offs.

I bought a nice Knipex side-cutter on Amazon (yes, I know ....).
I needed it quickly, and it was next day delivery.

Got the shipping notification with tracking number.
It was a chinapost tracking number. Shipping from Shanghai.
There was obviously no way it was going to be there next day ... and German tools shipping from China????

Amazon were quite good about it, refunded the money and told me to keep the things if/when they arrived (they never did).

Bought the things from a more reputable source ... but had to wait a week for delivery.

After buying the Cobra, I went ahead a purchased just about one of everything that Knipex makes. Good tools.

Other awesome tools I learned about on ARF:

- Wiha
- Wera

I have 3 pairs, and I love them.. However.. Im left handed... So adjusting them is not as easy for me as it should be... My only complaint...

I've been on the Knipex train for about 15 plus years now, great tools, Wiha insulated screwdrivers too.

Another one here that loves knipex. The pliers wrench are great for many uses. Completely gets rid of the use of the standard adjustable wrench.

Cobra pliers are my go to for most things. Going from those to trying to use my channellock adjustables there’s no competition. I’ll never use the channellock if I have the choice.

Knipex is the best for sure, better than Snap-On in the pliers and cutters department.  I'd estimate I have 30-40 of their tools.  I got tired of doing electrical work without a toolbelt so I got one and instead of Klien, I set it up with all Knipex including their non conductive screwdrivers.  KC tool is highly recommended by me as well!

I just got some 5" diagonal cutters and long-nose pliers the other day.  Tired of using shitty Chinese crap I find laying around.

Guess I've officially started a collection.  Also have 5 & 7" Cobras and 6 & 7" Pliers-wrenches.  Of course, now I'm wanting some 10-inchers.

New and shiny.

You can typically find sets like that for around $100 or so on Amazon or KC Tool depending on time of year and sales
