Here is a video that shows just how stunning this thing is.

My American Tele is my favorite guitar.

Plays and sounds like nothing else.

Very nice!  Congratulations on getting it, and definitely post some pics.  I bought my brothers natural American standard Telecaster from him last year and really like it.  It has a different feel from my Strat and my LP.

My sales rep at Sweetwater emailed me all of the high res photos of it as part of processing my order so I thought I would share. They had 4 in stock to choose from so I chose the one with the thinnest blue border in order to get as much of that black reflective surface as possible and have just enough of the blue to give it that dark sinister look when the lights are reflecting off of it.  Photos do not do this paint scheme any justice at all. It is one that has to be seen in person or at the very least in videos where you can see the reflections hit it. I will get more pictures of my own to try to capture that when it comes on Monday. Until then I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Dig the finish, kind of a photo negative or reverse burst thing.

A couple weeks ago I ordered a Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp and a set of headphones , and a hard case for my PRS Mark Holcomb, but this is my first "expensive" purchase from them. What amazing customer service. The sales rep even called me today to see if I had any questions and gave me his cell phone number in case anything came up and I needed to contact him.

The problem that I have is that my "dream guitar" seems to change every month or two.

I've been watching Guitar Show videos on YouTube and have found that there is NO WAY that I would be able to re-buy my collection today.

So, I need to be pretty happy with what I already have.

Does it fade from matte to gloss as well?

It is actually all high gloss but the neck. That is the reason why I picked the one with the thinnest blue border. The blue doesnt reflect the light anywhere near as good as the black. Thats why pictures dont do it any justice.  If you watch the first bit of that video I originally posted you can get an idea of the beauty of this thing. This is one guitar that really can only be appreciated in person but the videos give a good idea of what to expect.

The problem I have is I need 2 more jobs to support my hobbies. I always pick expensive hobbies and it takes me a while to build the funds for something because some good deal always pops up for one of the others. Between guitars, guns, golf, and photography I am always broke. I have been saving for this guitar for months and I have had 3 guns run out in front of me in the middle of saving and wipe out my toy fund. This time Sweetwater had a special going on of 48 months of interest free financing so I jumped on it. It like $30 a month that has to go toward the guitar so no gun can influence it.

I spy an SG in there. One of my favorite guitars ever. What color is that? Almost looks like some sort of eggplant in the picture

Just want to thank OP for pointing out another guitar for me to want.  Looks like you got the pick of the litter in that color.
I'm kind of fond of this one, but I better not.

Oh you can look me up.
I have around 20 of those, mostly vintage. All the color variations that came out over the decades

I worked/work with AC/DC, so you get it (I presume)

Look me up if you have time to waste (google SoloDallas)

I’m happy as hell for you OP, that is a great liking tele, right now I’m torn between buying an American performer tele, or saving a few more bucks and buying an American vintage II jazzmaster. I’m leaning towards the tele since I’ve been in blues/country mood lately. But offsets make me hard so I’m confused. But please keep us updated, that is a beautiful guitar!!!

Not sure what happened to my post last night. I may have hit preveiw by mistake. It was late. I got called to my daughters house last night with sparks coming out of her range hood. Anyway here are a few pics that I took as I opened it up.  I am in love with this thing.

Please excuse the mess on my table. The wife and kids are in Florida on a short vacation so its just me and the dog until Thursday. :)

Looks spectacular. I'd really like to know that Fender is producing some great guitars again.  How's the fretwork, fit & finish, all the little things?

The thing is definitely worthy of the American Pro II name. The only flaw that I could find, and it stuck out like a sore thumb to me since I spend a lot of time painting cars, was a microscopic pc of dirt in the clear right in the corner where the pick guard and bridge come together. I spotted it as soon as I opened the case, but thats how perfect the finish is on this thing. The slightest flaw is like a beacon begging you to look. In the first picture where the sweetwater inspection tag is still in the strings you can see some white dust looking stuff. That was where I picked it off with my fingernail. Other than that is is impeccable. The play ability is amazing. My son-in-law couldnt put it down. I told him he had to get his own. LOL I wouldnt be surprised if he already ordered one. LOL

I love telecasters. They are my favorite guitar. I just can not get past those tones. One of my favorite guitar players is Brad Paisley. I could listen to him all day long, and that is coming from someone who listens to metal music all the time. (product of the 80's hairbands.) :)

Maybe I'll come back to Fender then someday for a traditional Tele then.  Got burned awhile back but Fender is just one of those brands I want to see succeed .
