So I’m stuck at hone for the next week and want to watch some good Sci-Fi movies or series.

I’ve watched all of the Stargate Series and Farscape series.

What does the hive recommend?

If you haven't seen Dark on Netflix I highly recommend. It's in German with subtitles but I'm telling you it's one of the best series I've watched in a while.

Really gonna depend on what you've got available.

I found the whole Stargate-related series a satisfying watch and (years later) rewatch.

Sliders - at least the first two or three seasons.

All of the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and rebooted serial, except maybe not the fifth season.

Firefly - both the tv series and the movie Serenity.

Also, it’s not a sci-fi but we just watched “My Bodyguard” over the weekend. It’s Adam Baldwin’s first movie. Holy cow even at 17 he was a moose!

After that, try the expanse.

Hulu has 'Ex Machina.'  One of my favorite Sci-Fi movies.

Hulu has 'Wayward Pines.'  Good Sci-Fi series that would be impossible to describe without spoilers.

If you're willing to pay $2.99, Amazon has 'Moon.'  Great (if understated) Sci-Fi flick.

Saw the Firefly series and movie. I was actually thinking of watching the movie again.

I may bite the bullet and buy the BSG series since I can’t find them for free anywhere.

I’ll check out Queens Gambit today

Yep, I’ve watched it twice so far and will wait 6 months or so and watch it again.
I rarely do that.

It's interesting that a movie that, on the surface at least, is about chess gets such high marks from some pretty tough dudes on a gun forum.

Just goes to show that quality is quality.

That was my first thought as well. It’s on the list now to watch.

I started the Cinemax series Trackers. Pretty decent for a foreign miniseries.

Way better than they expected. I had a mass the size of a ping pong ball in my armpit. It was wrapped around a nerve cluster so I had numbness all the down to my ring finger and pinky.

All the feeling is back and no cancer so all is good. Except I am back to work now and work is off the hook busy right now.

@VACaver

The wife wanted to watch this show called Counterpart on Amazon Prime. Damn good show if you like spy/espionage themes.

Dark on Netflix is amazing. The story is many layers deep, with multiple payoffs as you start to understand how everything is connects together. I am on my third complete watching and I am still discovering things. There is a university in California that offers a class just on this show. I had a notebook to take notes on family trees and other relationships and then I discovered Netflix has a companion site that will help you understand the characters, settings and some relationships. You enter the season and episode you are up to and it will not spoil the show for you. https://dark.netflix.io/en

Watch it in native German language, but turn English subtitles on. If you change the language to English, you will miss out on the the emotion and other nuances that the English dub cant deliver.

Like a good book, I couldn't stop watching 'till I got to the last one.  Really good on all levels.

The Hidden
1987

Out of Time
Starring Blake Boyd
On Amazon Prime

This was a pleasant surprise I decided to give a shot.
The budget is probably less than an episode of Highlander let alone Startgate.
But given those limitations...

Regarding the last season, I couldn't take the Phill-whipp, Philll-whipp!!  So I fast forwarded through all of Noami's scenes.  And the whole space Palestinian thing is tiresome.   But there is enough good stuff otherwise to enjoy, but I will miss Alex.

Sorry I didn't reply.  Glad to hear it worked out well for you.

So what things did you end up watching and liking?

Couple hidden gems I found....the series with Jason mamoa called " SEE"...post  apocalyptic event causing EVERYONE on earth to go blind...(really good  story)
Another series,  from Russia  I believe, called     "THE RAIN"
The movie "EXTINCTION" has crazy insane plot twist I didn't see coming .
The movie "PROSPECT "
Starwars  universe spin off animated series "THE BAD BATCH"
Star trek  universe " PICARD" and "STAR TREK DISCOVERY".... Was surprised by   Picards  character dropping the "F" bomb  and other colorful words
Hope you  enjoy some of them

I just finished "Zero Zero Zero" (on Prime, I think) and really enjoyed it. Absolutely riveting. It follows a shipment of cartel cocaine from Mexico through the Middle East and eventually to Mafia families in Sicily. The entire series has all these intertwined stories taking place across 5 different countries all at the same time. Really well done.
