This is one of the best machines in my garage gym. It literally takes your soul when you get on it.
Anyone else have one of these? Workout advice? Appreciate the feedback |

Yeah, what he said. It’s originally a rowing workout…. Just hammer the bike where it says “row” and you’ll be regretting life choices well before the 25 mins is up. |

Had mine for almost a couple years now.
Simple and effective...tabata |

My wife bought one last year. I always mean to hop on the bike when I get home from lifting. But lose motivation by the time I get home from the gym.
It does kick you ass in a quickness |

Quoted: "Literally" takes your soul? Let's do better. View Quote Excuse me Mr. Let’s take everything literally. The work out is very difficult, if you apply maximum effort it will apply a tremendous amount of stress to your cardiovascular system and your respiratory rate will increase to an uncomfortable level. After completion, you will be very exhausted and it will take quite a bit of time to recover. Better? |

I don't have an Echo but I've got an Assault bike at work and a Titan bike at home. Both are tough. I usually do 5min on/1min rest for about five rounds.
When I do HIIT on the echo I do either. :10on, :50 rest or :20 on, 1:40 rest. For 7 rounds.
When your on, you go RPE 10. (As fast as possible). Sounds much easier than it is. |

I have a Schwinn complete with the grandpa paint job.
They do kick your ass though. I just use mine for warmups and LISS, I'm too much of a sissy to do sprints or anything on it. |
i took the advice at 0430 for the past 2 mornings and did 30 on/30 seconds rest for 30 minutes
I think I have came close to dying and seeing the other side. This time of the year from October to March I referee college and high school basketball and time is a commodity, I am loving the Echo and can knock out a gut wrenching workout with my dumbbells, bike, slam balls in 30-45 minutes |

I have the assault bike version( wife is short and the echo bike is, according to reviews, less comfortable for the vertically challenged). I use it as a finisher for my quad focused leg day. 10 calories as fast as I can then 30sec slow peddle and repeat for several rounds. Highest rpm I’ve been able to get is 80. Occasionally I go arms only as a finisher for chest/back day.
1 min rounds for calories at 60 rpm.
I'm too old to really push it. I try to keep my HR below 150 BPM. |
REALLY want one! That or a rower... It'd be nice for a few minutes of warmup prior to lifting.

Quoted: Is the echo bike resistance entirely determined by RPM, like the old Airdynes? Or does it have resistance settings? View Quote It's completely from the fan. Of these types of bikes, the Xebex magnetic resistance version is the only one I know of that has it's own adjustable resistance. Well, there's a cheapo marcy one that uses a belt tension for resistance, but the fan provides no resistance on that one. |

Quoted: I had an Airdyne for years, but could never get comfortable on it, because the old models had no forward-back seat adjustment. I was a killer workout if you were willing to push it! View Quote I'm using an Airdyne now, the seat hurts after 10 minutes. I recently picked up a vintage Wynmor commercial fan bike. The consoles busted, and I'm currently trying to figure out what sort of computer to replace it with. |
I have mixed feelings about mine. Some days it's great and others I hate it. It's a naughty little machine.

So I listed my Airdyne AD2 for sale, in preparation to order an echo bike on BF sales. The day it sells, I get offered an Airdyne AD7 for $500. I had to bite.

If it's magnetic, just about any of the computers from tbe Assault bike, Echo, Xebex Airbike, etc will work if you buy the proper cable. I have an older Airdyne with a Xebex Airbike console mounted on the original brackets. Looks almost like it came that way. Also, the seat on the Airdyne can be swapped out for just about any other bike seat if you buy the old-school seat adjuster assembly from Amazon for $9 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G52GFH1/ |

You can do pretty much anything on them. Probably my favorite is simply to go 400 calories for time.

I ended up just adding a Garmin speed sensor on the fan, and a Garmin cadence sensor on the pedal. Then used smartphone as console, with the Garmin connect app. Worked pretty well, but I was still playing with "wheel size" setting trying to get the calculations closer to what i was getting on my Airdyne. I barely used this setup for a couple days before an Airdyne AD7 showed up for $500 near me, and I picked it up last night. |

I have the Assault Bike, air bike. It is definitely a great machine, because you can go slow on it and it will work if you're rehabbing but if you push it hard it pushes back equally hard and will drain you quick.
I definitely recommend air bikes to guys. They are a great damn cardio workout. Once you get used to sitting in the saddle that is. |

10 sets of
30seconds on, 30 seconds off 30seconds on, 1 min off It is absolute max effort, and total rest. I do this on a versa-climber and it wrecks your soul |

Add a heart rate monitor max effort and recover, start with 5 rounds. Dont forget your zone 2 work.
Rogue put out a 50 cal challenge. Fast as you can for 50 cals. A whole new level of suck. My best is 1:27. Slow compared to the guy who won in 2021 with :40.
I've really been digging my lately for moderate rate steady state.
I put a docuseries on for 25-30 minutes and just plug away at 50-60 rpm, then stretch and call it a successful rest day. |
Got mine a few months ago. Love it. The default four minute program is great for a preliminary warm-up for morning workouts.
I periodically like to time myself for 400 cals as a benchmark. Otherwise, I like sprint/slow intervals and some steady state.
If you could only have one, which is better, the bike or a rower?
Put in 44.2 miles in last month. Looking to double mileage this month. After Polar HR monitor get here I’ll get stats established then 10/20 and 20/10 tabata too on the bike besides the mileage goal.

How comfortable is the seat on this thing? I really want one, but I worry about it making my junk numb.

One of the most effective weight loss techniques for me is comparing calories of a food item to time on an assault bike.
A 400 calorie poptart is like 30-35 min on the assault bike. Fuck the poptart. |
