My personal favorite is She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. From seeing Monument Valley filmed in color, to the music, to the ghosts of the civil war shaping the characters. It's just such a good film.

I think The Searchers and How Green was my Valley are his best though. Just amazing films.

He made so much good stuff.

No to mention, "The Battle of Midway" and "Torpedo Squadron 8," the later of which was given/shown only to the families of those lost from Torpedo 8 (VT-8) during the Battle of Midway.

SWAYR a phenomenal movie, but The Searchers is my favorite. The cinematography is/was truly ground breaking and remains among the best ever captured on film.

Here's two John Ford flicks most of you don't remember (Gawd I am old)

Judge Priest with Will Rogers & Stepin Fetchit.  It could not be made today:

and its sequel, The Sun Shines Bright (no Will Rogers but Stepin Fetchit is in it):

The Sun Shines Bright 1953 John Ford

The Plough and the Stars.

Great film about the troubles in Ireland.

John Ford has a brother, Francis Ford/O’Fearn, who was an AD on his films and appeared on screen in cameo roles.

If you ever get down to Monument Valley stop at Gouldings trading post, it's where Ford, Wayne and the movie people stayed and hung out. There's also a John Wayne museum located in the building Wayne (as Captain Brittles) used as his office in She wore a yellow ribbon. Memorabilia and uniforms actors wore in the movie.
