I still prefer this one, but it still needs some improvement (range/duration, for starters).




Years ago (20 to 30, maybe?), Popular Science or Popular Mechanics had a mention in one of their 'near future tech' bits, about potential military development of something similar to the craft in the above video, but a bit larger and with actual control surfaces for control, instead of the 'shifting your arms and legs around like a skydiver' method of control.  The brief writeup was expecting some form of weaponry to be mounted, HUD in the helmet visor for navigation and other instruments, and VTOL (instead of popping a chute to land).
