It seems like poors in here. OP, use it to disinfect countertops.

You might want to splash a wee bit of water in the glass with that.
Years ago there was an online liquor store, in Missouri IIRC. I went online and bought a few bottles of various labels we can't get here in Alabama (ABC stores ). Anyway, some of them got put back in a cabinet. Time passed, leaves fell, water went under the bridge and I disremembered them. So my son in law comes up for a visit and I started digging around and came up with a bottle of van Winkle 15y/o. He was agog. He's a big seeker of high dollar bourbons. He couldn't believe a fan of Old Forester could come up with a bottle of van Winkle. |

They say it doesn't age in the bottle but that stuff was smooooth. |

It used to be OK for $35 but I had others I preferred in that price range.

There were two bottles of "Old 1889 Brand" bottled in bond bourbon. She had taken them from her brother's when he died. They dated from the 1960s. Back before millimeters were a thing. Federal tax strip glued to the cork. My brothers wouldn't touch them so I brought them home and tracked down the distillery that bought Old 1889. I called them and asked if I'd go blind if I sipped some. They said if it had been kept room temp it was probably still good. It was ok for what was probably never top of the line bourbon. I still have the second bottle. About half of the contents have evaporated, guess the cork dried out and it excaped. |

In all seriousness it’s good, but I prefer other bourbons, like Booker’s, which are also more readily available. Pappy 12 and 15 are far better than van winkle 10 to me personally.

View Quote I like it, but it's way too easy to drink. Thankfully I have another bottle. I'll probably die before I open it. It's the only one in the "pappy" line I've had, so take that for what its worth. Well worth retail, got both at $69. |

Save the bottle if you ever finish it. Fill with Early Times, Kentucky Gentleman, or some other low shelf. Serve it to folks who know bourbon but never had it. Watch the reactions. Lol.

I've read that it's good, but not several hundred (thousand?) dollar good.
There are a ton of amazing sub-$100 bottles out there. I'd like to try the high end Van Winkles, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to pay that much money for a bottle of liquor. |

It's good for making $600-700, other than that there's cheaper and better stuff out there.

I’m not sure it’s worth the price but I’ll tell you something that is...
