Had a coworker who was a good friend piss his whole life away going past 750ml every day. Weekends would be worse. Lost his job before retirement and lost all his friends. Went to a rehab clinic only to resume right after.
I have some drinks here and there, but will never let it get to that point ever. |

The real problem is why are you seeking approval/attention?
Remember the rule of drinking "Never drink to feel better...." |
|
[#3]
To me that seems like a ton of booze nightly. I'm admittedly a lightweight who restricts his drinking to weekends and holiday occasions though.

My best friend died drunk. Both Grandfathers died drunk. Two uncles died drunk.
Get some help OP. |

I learned the truth from Lenny Bruce, that all this wealth won't buy you health. So I smoke a pint of tea a day.

Drinking that much is not healthy and will eventually effect you negativly. Not to mention if you cant stop that kind of drinking schedule, you need help. Drinking here and there is fine but there's a line you cross that takes you into alcoholism, and everyones different for what that line is but the outcome is the same.

For the record.
1 shot = 1.5oz by most standards (us has no true standard but the average shot glass or nip (airplane bottle to some) is 1.5oz. 350ml= just under 13oz or just over 8 shots. Half pint = 4 shots Pint = 8 shots 750 or a 5th = 16 shots |

I like Bulleit bourbon, but I would be blackout drunk if I slammed 10 shots of Bulleit in one sitting. It sounds a little excessive to drink that much every night.
|
|
[#18]
I may do 6 ounces one night and not drink for 5 days then have 3 ounces and skip another 5 days and repeat.
My bourbon stash last quite a while. But yes I could drink Bulleit straight out the bottle like water if I wanted to. Definitely a smooth drink |

Yeah. That's a bad trajectory to be on.
Good luck cutting back and/or quitting drinking altogether. |

Fuck it, come out thread.
I’ve been going nearly every day for over edit: 15yrs. Work, then slowly drink when I get home until 9. I’ve dumped hard liquor in the last 6mo but still drink a couple tall boys or nearly a bottle of wine. Some nights will just be a glass of wine. I never used to drink, then I joined a band at 22 and started touring. Well you see, when you tour everyday is like Friday. New city, new girls, free handle of Clear or brown liquor (we flip flopped each night), case of beer on top of snacks, water and shit. hit the stage to perform, drink on stage, drink backstage, bus parties, hit the local bars, local parties. What. A. Fucking ride. I need to write a book guys, I do... so many rocker stories. Anyway This was my night for 10yrs...10mo the out of the year. 38, i work and live a normal life now but I’m struggling to kick the habit of drinking everyday. My dad had cirrhosis of the liver in his 40’s... I’m pretty sure this shit will catch up to me. |

Starting in March 2020 I started drinking a pint of Absolut every night to be able to sleep until a few weeks ago when I started weaning myself off of it. I was spending around $200 per month on alcohol. It's been about two weeks since I've been drunk and already feel better, partly because my blood pressure was through the roof when I was drinking. I broke down and had one shot last night but it was only one. A couple of months ago I had some blood work done to check out my liver levels and they came back within normal range so I hadn't done any lasting damage yet.

A pint of beer a day, nahhhh you’re good. Pint of Bourbon a day? Damn son, you need to cut back......waaaay back.

Too much IMO, at least daily. I’m all about having a pour but maybe 2 ounces and never every single day.

A 375 of 90 proof for you in, say, 3 hours is about .25% BAC. Pretty fucking drunk.

I didn't quite finish that pint last night. I decided to put it down and go to bed. I'm going the rest of the weekend alcohol free. I never thought of what I was doing as problematic as I have acquaintances that drink as much or more than me. One buddy makes it work, but another buddy who was drinking over a fifth a day pretty much ruined his life with it and he's trying to pick up the pieces at the moment. I can't let it get to that point for me.

I would recommend easing up on the bottle, dude. A pint a bourbon a day is a lot of liquor.
A guy I work with is a functional alcoholic and goes through about that much liquor a day throughout the week, and more on the weekends. Like he'll kill most of a half gallon of Beam white label over the course of a weekend. He'll die young at this rate but seems quite content at what he's doing. |

OP those levels of drinking are definitely more than a couple to relax. Those are getting fucked up levels. If you like that feeling I suggest you ditch the booze and start smoking weed. You will get the desired effect with much less damage to your body. I don’t use marijuana but from everything I have read it is much better for you than large amounts of alcohol.
Of course doing neither is best but I am just saying if you want to feel funny there are healthier ways to do. Large amounts of alcohol over long periods of time are hard on your body. |
