Definitely stupid.... and uncalled for. Are the charges appropriate for that state?

We would have booked him for that one too. Not so sure about the felony charges, as our DA would likely call it a misdemeanor only. Couldn't even get an oppression charge on a battery case without some additional factors.

Yeah, kicking a handcuffed prisoner will be a cowardly dick move. Has no right to wear the badge and the punishment was way too light. Civil suit will be biblical to his $$$. Termination and he needs to be on his own during the civil suit.

Officers actions are a direct result of losing his cool and not responding to training to maintain professionalism and his temper. At that point the department needs to cut him the fuck loose and he needs to get a job in the food service industry.

I've seen it several times. I wouldn't think dude would need that level of force with handcuffs and three officers engaged. But I'm not a cop so I wouldn't know.

ETA: Fuck those other guys if they didn't have the integrity to include that in their report or run that guy through some sort of EMS.

Again, that probably gave him a concussion. The officer is lucky it didn't cause severe brain trauma and possibly even have killed him especially since they didn't report it and have him checked at at a hospital. That dues eyes clearly gave it away. He was in Lala land.

I’m case you’re referring to Qualified immunity, it DOES NOT apply to criminal misconduct. The Officer will be on his own, in that regard, but the City, and everyone in between him and the mayor are going to be named in a lawsuit.
