I am amazed that a country who once bragged that the sun never set on their empire has come to such a pathetic state.
Coming soon to an America near you. |

What about "Fuck the Monarchy" on the blade?
My dad told this story from his time on the Claude V. Ricketts, DDG-5, during a NATO exercise: A British ship's radioman had been hounding them about protecting the royal ship, why aren't they holding course X meters from the Queen's ship, etc, for several hours. Finally, the Ricketts radioman had enough. "Fuck the Queen" he transmitted. "Fuck the Queen?!? Why... YOU MAY NOT EVEN APPROACH HER!" came the angry reply. For the rest of the exercise, though, there were no more snarky comments directed towards the Ricketts. No disciplinary action was given. It was a simpler time. |

Who ever defended this shit? Names, please. When you said ='what's up with Arfcom's fascination over UK knife law' that absolutely came off as being defensive about the overall situation. Not so much that you were in favor of the laws, but that you were embarrassed by them and preferred we not even discuss it. Similarly, in the other thread a lot of your comments come off as 'well TECHNICALLY they can...but they don't very often, and when they do it's against inner city minorities, so we all just pretend like it isn't so' |

We don't really have any regulations concerning what knives may look like, but carrying any knife without a "valid reason" is illegal.
It's usually a charge they add on when they catch thugs with drugs or stealing. I've carried a knife every day since I was a kid, and I've never had anyone question it, because I'm a good boy. |

Every Bobby that vacations in the US that I’ve met buys one handed knives to take home snd trade to other officers, lol.
Laws pretty much make anything used in an assault a “weapon” over there. It’s just another charge they can add. The “tools of law enforcement”. |

Look up again, chief. I haven’t discussed any technicality of the law in the other thread, maybe you’re referring to Funky, or Pesty. Also, you assume a lot about me LOL I’m not defensive about anything, I find it amusing when people from outside England think they know more about how things really work here than me. |

Quoted: Don't laugh, clown world is coming for you too, soon. View Quote It can come in handy to point out that for a while in 2020 London had a higher murder rate than New York so maybe it's not just about how common guns are. It can come in handy that while the UK has very extreme gun laws, they continue to see an uptick violent crime including murder. Their response of banning the next favorite object is having little impact on the problem. It's reasonable to extrapolate once all pointy things like kitchen knives and scissors are banned, there will still be a problem and people will be using hammers, clubs, etc. |

View Quote Untrue You ban a knife because it has a flippy handle (butterfly knife) even thought that adds nothing to the lethality and actually probably makes it a less effective weapon because of time/difficulty to deploy. (To be fair, the same law is often found here) so the ban is based on what the knife looks like You ban a knife because it appears different than a traditional, obvious knife - so the ban is based on what the knife looks like You ban a knife based on the words written or images on the knife blade, sheath, handle, and even packaging. Even though words/images aren't going to change something's lethality - so the ban is based on what the knife looks like. |
