1980's  but could be earlier

might have three engines.

727-L1011 was the career step for dad,  best pic of him smiling I have.  :)

tough call but based on the size of the window I dont think that is an L1011

looks like it could be a 727

I plummed on a 72 for 2.5 years  so i spent a bunch of time from the picture taker position

You ain’t giving us much OP.    72 would be my guess.   It is reminiscent of a 73, and they are similar.

See the O’Jesus handle at the top left corner?   Look up pictures and See which airplane had that.

that handle is definitely not on an L1011 and definitely is on the 727

so if he only flew the 727 and the L1011 then it is a 727

that handle was used to bring the seat forward after striping in since the seat was manual.

I believe it’s a 727, as said above the handle is used to pull the seat forward.

Definitely the 727. Unmistakable Boeing control wheel, windows and "oh shit" handle.

I flew both the 727 and the L1011 and can say unequivocally that is a 727 due to the yoke, the seat adjust handle, and the window(s).

What was he flying at the end of his career?  Domestic (L1011-100) or international (L1011-250, -500)?  Just curious, I worked on all three.

thanks all!

727 it is then.

He was domestic if I'm not mistaken from late 60's to late 80's out of MIA and then ATL.   I'm not totally certain though...  tell me:  you either are or aren't right?  there's no domestic and international?  I don't remember seeing a passport.  Jepsens, I dont recall replacing anything international.  There were many Delta stickers in my youth for London / Germany IIRC  :) which is the only recollection.

thanks again,  that pic would also be back when you could smoke in the cockpit.  If you scheduled right.
