I kind of want something from ancient Egypt, but I don’t know enough to not get burned. Plus I don’t want to spend tons of money for something that’s going on a shelf. |

Here's an 18th century engraved spike tomahawk found/dug at an Ottowa village site in Michigan, next to the contemporary replica I had a blacksmith make for me.
Attached File eta: with what look to be tally marks - possibly kills |

Nihonto. It's pretty cool to hold a 500 year old samurai sword and wonder where it's been and what's been done with it.

I have an actual piece of the foil used on the Apollo 11 command module that flew to the moon. It came with provenance and everything. My wife got it for me.

One of the earliest known American Longrifles, known as the RCA 19 rifle (actually a smoothbore however), early 1750s Pennsylvania, made for an Indian Chief and engraved to his liking. Believed to have been made for Chief Paxinosa, a Shawnee Chief and American patriot, though some dispute it was for him. Nevertheless, one of a handful of surviving pre-Revolutionary War American rifles.
It's currently on exhibit at the Fort Pitt Museum in Pittsburgh. Attached File |

How about this? Borchardt.

I've got a German Luger. My uncle took it from a dead German in WW II and my dad bought it from him for $40. When my dad passed I got it.

View Quote I've got a few as well, also some nazi flags looted by some GIs, though posting those would probably get me on a list somewhere. I also have a wooden model of a U boat looted from the Nazi sub base in Brest, France. I think it was on one of those huge table maps, where they'd push around the U-boat models with a pole to show their position. Now that I think about it, I also have a couple wooden chess pieces looted out of Hitler's Berghof. |

Someone else posted this site earlier. I bought an Augustus denarius from him that came with a very well made silver bezel:
http://www.ancientresource.com/index.html Nothing about the transaction raised any flags at all and I do believe him to be trustworthy. You can spend a lot of time chasing rabbits on the website - interesting stuff. |
