Senior Deputy Jessica Hollis
Travis County Sheriff's Office
EOW: 09/19/2014

http://www.kwtx.com/home/headlines/Sheriffs-Deputy-Missing-After-Vehicle-Swamped-In-Flooding-275605341.html

AUSTIN (September 19, 2014) Searchers Friday found the body of Travis County Senior Deputy Sheriff Jessica Hollis, 35, who had been missing since she radioed Thursday to report her patrol car was being washed away.

Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton became emotional when announcing that divers had found her body, saying he was determined to "bring her home."

Hollis, a seven-year veteran of the department, was checking low-water crossings in an Austin-area subdivision during storms early Thursday when she radioed for help.

Im sorry to make a Officer down post a "thing" but I get bitter when a good man like this gets hardly a headline while some gangster/robber/Police fighter/criminal gets a world movement after getting whacked while trying to disarm a PO.

RIP Det. Kerrie Orozco...
5/20/15

We truly lost a great one. She was a member of the Gang Suppression unit in North Omaha. Not only did she combat gangs and their violence....in her off time she volunteered for a local boys and girls club for troubled or disadvantaged youths to try and keep them off the streets. She was also routinely spotted at the homeless shelters on her off time.

Kerrie gave birth to a premature baby and the little on was in the hospital for 4 months and was being released today. She never even got to hold her baby outside of the hospital. She also had two step children.

A very large part of this community was taken from us today too early. Someone who made a difference...who became a cop for all the right reason.

A POS shot her in the throat and she coded at the scene and was pronounced dead at the hospital. They were looking for him for a felony warrant from a prior shooting.

The POS was also killed. I hope she got a shot at him.

TROY, N.C. (WNCN) – A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy has died from the coronavirus, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office and a Facebook post by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff Sypraseuth “Bud” Phouangphrachanh, 43, of Candor, died Tuesday night in the intensive care unit at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candor,_North_Carolina

According to Montgomery County Sheriff Chris Watkins, Phouangphrachanh was a 14-year veteran of the sheriff’s office and had previously served as a police officer with the Town of Candor.

Phouangphrachanh, affectionately known as Deputy Bud in the community, served as a School Resource Officer in Montgomery County.

According to a January 2019 Facebook post by Watkins, Phouangphrachanh was so well-liked at the school where he worked the students made Jan. 18, 2019, “Deputy Bud Day.”

Watkins said Phouangphrachanh was “known for his big smile, sense of humor and laughter.”

Watkins said that Phouangphrachanh had been suffering from allergy symptoms and received outpatient care before being tested for COVID-19 and beginning self-isolation in his home. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday before passing away the next night.

Phouangphrachanh is survived by a wife, five children, brothers, and an extended family, according to Watkins.

“Our deepest sympathy to our neighboring county, the officer’s family and law enforcement family at Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office,” the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, as well as the families of all those throughout this world who have endured the loss of loved ones in this crisis,” Watkins said.

There are at least 1,584 COVID-19 cases and at least nine deaths across the state, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and local health departments.
