Depends on the type of game she plays but for certain genres like shooters that is the way to play. You aim with the mouse and use the keyboard to do everything else. Using a controller is actually a disadvantage.
For a PC gamer a Steam gift card is always a safe bet. |

But seriously, yes get her a Steam gift card, I usually just buy mine a game she's had on her wishlist. Steam is the gift that will never stop draining your bank account(s). I was proud of myself this holiday season sale, only bought 4 games. But if you feel you need to buy something physical, a nice gamer headset would work. I'm a fan of HyperX headsets but Corsair and Razor make good ones. I've had my eyes on a Razor one for a while. And I'm joking about a controller. I have an XboxSeriesX controller now for my PC because some games (like fighting and 3rd person adventure) work better with a controller. However shooters should NEVER be played with a controller if you can help it. Find out what she plays the most. |

I mean, you are being very vague.
Is she a southpaw? Left hand hitting keys? You mean using the keyboard? Roblox is free, Minecraft isn't, but a 1 time fee. If shes young, say 6~10, both are good choices. We don't know how old the kid is or what kind of games she likes to play... |

It's all roblox and Minecraft. Nothing else. Nothing else.
Right hand on mouse. Left hand in keyboard. Looks like old fashioned joystick would help. You guys say keyboard- that's what it is. Ty |

ergonomics for her left hand. in my youth i was pc gamer from hell and now after about an hour my left hand hurts so bad i cant move it. 9 years of everquest with my fingers spread over keys. not sure if theres a mouse pad type thing to take stress off the left hand?
thats why im console only now. controller doesnt hurt my hand. |

I don't see what the issue is with a joystick + mouse setup. It's a peripheral, same as a mouse, & it would just substitute for hitting the WASD keys for directional control. Plus, a decent HOTUS stick can bind its buttons to the other peripheral keystroke functions.

mouse and keyboard is widely regarded as faster and more accurate for gaming, particularly where you must aim.
