For industrial use, pointing out features in big factories.  Prefer pen-style, don't need/want powerpoint remote clicker functionality.  Drop-proof impact rated a definite plus.

All I see on Amazon are pointers for making cats dance & stupid shit - I need a tool, not a toy.

Whatcha' got for me?

I'm in for the results, I looked on Amazon for one for the exact same use, and like you, found a bunch of "cat toys."

Son in law gave me this green chinesium one. Shot it across a large local reservoir at a wooded area. I'm about convinced that thing can burn tree bark at a 1/4 mile. Even has a safety key.

I used one of these

. It works quite well and is cheap.  It is only $15 and I could point out things in during walk throughs that was 40:to 50 feet away.

Have one of these, it's stupid bright.
Not sure if it's actually safe (IR filter)
Most Chinese lasers have no filter.

I almost bought one of these:

Those things are crazy bright an toss light forever....
I love how you can co-witness them with your optics.
One down side is that they don't like cold... MN has cold, months and months of it..

This tripod can steady the laser.

When I was lecturing, I found inertia could be given to a pen laser by taping the laser to an old wooden pointer. It was funny but effective.
