So, it appears to work. I did a "find my phone" on google and it found it outside the bag, did not find it inside the bag.
However, it occurred to me I dont know why someone would want their phone in a faraday bag. You cant use the phone when its in it, and when you take the phone out "they" know where you are. I mean, I guess its ok if I were going from point A to point C and didnt want them to know I stopped at point B. Still not sure what the point is. |

I'll bet the people who were at DC recently wish they had one.

I’m sure they do now. Who would have thought with big tech on their side they would track phones.

Thats what I dont get.
As soon as you pull your phone out for riot selfies, "they" know where you are. Wouldnt the alternative be not to take your phone out of the faraday bag the whole time you're at the local riot? So why take your phone along to begin with? I mean, its cool and all. I got to exercise my crafty side and felt all secret squirrel doing it. But then I thought, maybe if I just left my phone at home... [edit] "but wheres the fun in that?" I know, I know! |

I always assumed they leave it in the bag, but if they have an emergency they still have a phone along, but I'm just guessing thats why they do it, I'm in the middle of Oklahoma so I'm no riot expert

So lets see the faraday bag. I was thinking about buying a mission darkness faraday bag for mine but if yours is decent maybe I'll do the same.

On your way home and want to stop at the riot? Put it in the bag.
Easy peazy |

Bagging your phone is great until the Feds show that your vehicle popped up on the ALPR network 87 times traveling to and from the event you didn’t want them to know you were at.

How about stashing your phone somewhere AWAY from your little riot, so when they track where it was, it shows you were not at the scene.
Leave it at home attached to your dog as he runs around in the back yard. :-) |

Quoted: Quoted: Bingo. Doing something somewhere and want to keep your phone from tattling on you? Well then why take your phone at all? Why leave it if it's not going to transmit? Maybe you need it for when you get far enough out of the area, but not back to your home/safe spot. I would rather throw my phone in a bag, put it in my pocket or pack, and have it if/when I need it. But to your point, the answer is a burner phone and don't take pics of yourself doing things you don't want others to know about. |

I removed the battery from my phone the morning of the Lobby Day Rally.
It seemed retarded not to. |

15 years ago, you could just pull the fuse that powers OnStar.
Now that it's integrated into the car, disconnecting the cellular antenna is about your only hope. |

Break glass in case of emergence.... Don't take it out unless it is an emergency, like you need to google the nearest restroom.

Tracfone is he answer to your question. Let them try to find where "Emma Gaffutnik" was when "she" visited DC.
