[Last Edit: FrankSymptoms]
Hip surgery was at 0730. It's 1150 now. And at least for the first day, the nurses are fairly free with the poppies!

Left hip gets quite sore, which is understandable 'cause it's been replaced.

The nurses, et. al. are uniformly terrific! They seem to enjoy the work, and they know their stuff. It doesn't hurt that they are all damned cute!

The food here is actually tasty! I've seen hospital food than I wouldn't feed a pig.

I'm gonna see the physical therapist soon. Be back later.

And forgive me if I seem to be loopy. The poppies, you know...

According to the porn websites, getting hauled away for physical therapy is exactly how the random sexual encounter begins.

I'm back home again.

It's amazing that this surgery is an outpatient procedure! I'd have thought that there would be at least an overnight stay.
I have a tube running from my hip to a negative pressure device, to catch drainage. So far the tank is dry.
I also have a thing on each calf that squeezes them to prevent blood clots.
About the only negative experience involved the pee-pee catheter. I wasn't awake when they installed it, so I don't know which cute nurse did the job. Also,  my first 2 times I peed it HURT! Felt like I'd spent a nasty week in Hong Kong!
I'm looking forward to being able to walk without crutches or walker!

Glad you're resting well at home,  OP. Follow the doctor's directions to a tee and you should be fine. My buddy had his done last year and he seems right as rain.

Most everyone I talk to says the same.
one negative anecdote I hear was of an elderly woman in a nursing home who refused her rehab because it hurt too much; she ended up crippled.

We discussed some of the things people say when coming out of anesthesia. I apologized in advance.
She said "No worries, we've heard it all." With a big grin.

Bed. Rest. SUCKS !!

2 Hours in bed, then 20 minutes out
To keep blood clots from forming.
