So honey pre/intra/post workout is a meme in the fitness realm.

And we all know creatine is cheap and works.

But combining them is an annoying and laborious process, and I'd rather save the energy for training.

So here's my invention:

Run your sink till the water is steaming hot. Dump your creatine and honey into a Magic Bullet mixer cup. Fill it about halfway with the steaming hot water. Blend. The water is hot enough to dissolve the creatine and honey so you have a nice homogeneous mixture. But it's not too hot to just slam. Kinda tastes like tea.

Which TBH is the most convenient way to mix protein shakes.

I just slam a zip fizz and creatine/bcaa protein shake before the gym.

What am I missing here?

Also, shaker bottles is where it's at for protein shakes. Easy cleanup.

Meh, I dunno. The sugars in the honey give me a little extra kick for the workout. Supposedly (warning, bro-science inbound) sugar helps with creatine uptake.

Honey has other stuff in it that is supposedly (warning, hippy-science inbound) helpful with allergies and has antioxidants & minerals.

RE: Cleanup - Throw the bullet mixer cup in the dishwasher and just rinse the blending head off and let it dry (literally 5 seconds of "work"). I have 8 of the cups so I've always go a fresh one. It seriously is way better than a mixing cup. Zero effort for an extremely well mixed shake. No protein gunk trapped in threads/seals/nozzles etc.

Hi temps will destroy the beneficial properties in honey.

About 110-115f max. Not steaming hot.

I applaud your effort, but you do know you have a mixing bowl built in to your body right?  You're better off with oatmeal pre, then hitting the honey during workout when you need a quick hit.

Heh thanks.

I usually train about an hour after breakfast, so, don't really want to eat again right before.

Also once I get started I don't like consuming anything besides water.

For the record this thread is only semi-serious.

I used to be the same way.  Now I have an evergrowing snack shelf.  You know your workout is gonna suck when you have to pack a lunch.

No that’s what chalk is for. Think of it like a dry shampoo.

Wrong.

Honey is not high glycemic due to its high fructose content.

Not saying it’s a good or a bad idea, but honey does not have a high GI.

"Pure honey has a typical ranking of 58 on the scale. But some varieties are even lower. The glycemic index of honey depends on how much fructose is in that particular batch. Honeys that contain 35 to 45 percent fructose, for example, score around 35 to 48 on the glycemic index. White table sugar, also known as sucrose, is higher, with a glycemic index between 58 and 65."
