But at the end of the day you realize you came home with a Kia.

That.... is actually really impressive.
GF is in need of new car and I think that’s pretty damn hard to beat. |

Rolls royce for me would be a 90's model with 20k or less on it even with powerball money and yes, I am THAT cheap.

As someone who is has been working with future automotive technologies for the last 8 years... I'll say the Koreans are absolutely not fucking around.

Back in the mid 90's I had a Ford Aspire. A little sub-compact made by Kia.
It was awesome for what it was. |

I don't know why someone wouldn't consider KIA.
The Telluride is freaking sweet and too bad the Stinger is going away but that was a nice 4 door hatch. They don't make many 4 door hatches. Audi A7/S7/RS7 Buick Regal Sportback KIA stinger. I really think that's about it. |

Factories don't need Boston Dynamics type robots. They can utilize fixed manufacturing robots more suited for assembly line work.
Boston Dynamics robots are more suitable for replacing mechanics since a repair facility is less specialized than an assembly line. It will cut their warranty claims cost as well. Sorry about your future robot overlords. |

Quoted: ... huh? This isn't the 90s anymore View Quote My wife's last car was a KIA, right around 15,000 miles the whole AC system took a dive. Every joint was leaking. Took it in, they said we could either keep getting the coolant replaced every few days or get the entire system replaced for like $9k. Decided we'd rather just trade it in. |

How does Coolant and Refrigerant have anything in common? And if it only had 15k miles why was it not warranty? |

View Quote So are Ford festivas Which most were built by Kia I can go to Canada and buy a lightly handled Hyundai excel I'm looking at buying a 40 + year old Fiat It doesn't matter The reason why you see so many old Honda's and toyoda's is just because of shear production numbers Look at Honda sales for 1990 and then look at Hyundai, Honda sold hundreds of thousands of more vehicles in the United States compared to Hyundai that year Meh |

Why are a stinger GTs so expensive? They are as much as my RS3 and my car does so much more. Jus sayin...
|
|
I’m the same way.
That’s why I owned an optima gs-x. Own a pt-92 and stoeger cougar. Hard to beat a pre-owned 3/4 ton suburban 4x4 so I have one of those. Same with a modular home on land, have one of those also. A good deal on a used Honda or Yamaha ATV is also hard to pass up. I want more for the money. |
|
Any KIA's out there capable of towing a 21ft bass boat 80+mph in the hill country? If not I'll stick with my Tundra.
|
|

I’d trade that stuff in the checked column for mechanical reliability.

Way to go comparing against Toyota, who make great cars but are slow af to add features to their models, and Nissan who barely updates anything because they simply can’t afford to.
Almost all of this options come on the competitive ford or Chevy sedans (while they’re still being made) |
|
I hate terrible values as well, mostly.
In 12 years of owning a large fleet of 6.0 and 6.4L power strokes, I wish I had found just ONE diesel tech that has OP's passion for his job. |
|
I have a Kia, it's fine for what it is but the only K5s in this world should be Blazers.
|
|
KIA certainly has more standard options than anyone else in the same price range.
Personally, I don't give a shit about most of them. The only option on that list I'd want is the remote start. So I continue to shop Honda and Toyota for practical cars. |
|
What is the resale value of those three cars, five years later, with the same mileage?
|
|
Quoted: Iv worked on 20 plus year old kias, shit lasts if you take care of it. View Quote You said it. And as you said, things last if you take care of them. Regardless of brand/model. The difference is in the amount of care that they require. Personally, while I respect how far Hyundai/Kia have come, out of those choices I would probably still spend the extra $1500 on the Toyota because I know it is much more likely to get to 200-300k miles without significant drama. The Nissan would only be a consideration at a YUUGE discount. |
|
i made that mistake when i bought our 14 grand cherokee summit.
had every option and was 50k compared to entry level ml350 or q7 at the same price. the Jeep has been reliable but i absolutely hate driving it. very uncomfortable for me after an hour of driving and not a fan of the 8 speed trans in it. now looking at replacing with a used gls63 or a yukon denali, wife wants escalade but we'll see... |

I applaud anyone who has the guts to say publicly they own a Kia. Or a Taurus firearm for that matter. Says you have no shame and humiliation doesn't bother you.

KIA should use the telluride chassis to make a truck. have it tow 8000 lbs and price it at $30,000 youd have a winner.
