Instruction sheet says there's more detailed instructions on there. Is there anything I actually need?

I've got 0 desire to stick a USB stick thingy that came basically direct from China in my computer, and would much rather use something not that. Also saw some adapters anyway to use non-micro SD cards so you're not always popping it in and out. Can I just chuck the damn thing?

Nothing that you *need* on your PC. There is the OEM slicer and manual control, but Cura can be downloaded for free.

There are some test files, but you can also download things like Benchy.

You want Cura or Prusa Slicer anyway over the unsupported Chinesium slicer anyway, probably Cura for a Creality machine since that combo is widely used and thus has community support.

Toss it, that white adapter has even been known to melt after some people plugged it in.

You don't need it but you can stick the memory card in the printer and print some of the test models(cat, dog, pig) and make sure you have everything set up correctly.

Among other things, you've got the complete 3D model of all the parts of your printer on that memory card.

If you have ideas about designing and making upgrades for your machine like just about every single one of us that owns an Ender 3 does, you might find it to be, y'know, helpful to have the manufacturer's reference model of the machine to start from.
