1- violent felons stay in jail.  Actually prosecute them.  Greatly reducing drivebys, gang shootings, bar shootings, and similar.  Goodbye- stay in jail...

2- get rid of weapon free zones like schools.  If each school had a number of properly trained and armed employees, it would mean a kid would never know what to expect.  Weapon free zones in general are just giant targets.

3- (won’t need a #3 if we do the first two on the list...)

It's such an uncommon occurrence that people don't really give a fuck to spend money on things that are known to work, like security or putting violent psychos in insane asylums.  Or even locking people up the first, second, or third time they commit a violent crime.  Sad but true; it's within our power as a society to significantly reduce the number of times things like this happen, but we choose not to.

And it's not just about money.  We don't give a fuck to see that people are prepared to deal with these situations.  Not with weapons, not with tourniquets, or even the basic understanding of how those things work.  We don't care that the emergency medical systems are designed to be at capacity.

The best thing to do is be aware of your surroundings.  Be trained, be armed, and have a first aid kit around.  And remember: if the cops see you with a gun in your hand they will mag dump first and ask questions later.

It's a cultural thing.  We've become a sick, twisted society, and this is one of the unfortunate side-effects.

It's clearly a loaded question.  All I know is 75 years ago we had much easier access to guns, yet mass shootings almost never happened.  What changed?

The most effective means is "more armed law abiding citizens," EVERYWHERE.

Enough of these psychos start to get shot down like dogs by 2 or 3 armed bystanders, and they'll start to get the message sooner or later.

Comprehensive background checks. Virtually all of these shooters have a history of domestic violence. But often they weren't arrested. And if they were, the prosecutor offers a plea to a lesser charge that's not prohibited.

And on the plus side when background checks are ironclad, there is no reason to restrict what's for sale.

This is really the only answer. More guns/CCW might stop some, but if that was all that was needed shitcago wouldn't have the murder rate it does.

Or whatever

This isn't a new issue, and I'm not convinced there are more of them now than before.  There were plenty of "mass shootings" in the days many of you are saying we need to go "back to."

This is like trying to "end domestic violence" or "end child abuse." Its a noble goal, but not attainable. Some crimes can only be reduced/prevented to a point; after that they can only be responded to.

Ending gun-free zones and putting guns back in the hands of "good guys" probably won't reduce the numbers of mass shootings by much, but it will reduce the number of victims.

1. Remove the welfare system we have and replace it with a support system funded and operated by the tax free church. Want a handout? Go sit and listen to a church sermon for it.

2. If caught committing an act of mass shooting, the punishment should be public hanging while disrobed.

3. Reopen insane asylums

Decades of cultural subversion have eaten away at our society like cancer.  Even if you could reverse all that you'd still have the alphabet boys staging shootings to push for their fucking gun control.

About all you can do is encourage everyone to be armed to make the arrival time of the second gun as short as possible.

Add to that the economic imbalance that has been imposed on people for decades.
The message of we are going to help you get out of poverty by giving you this handout and the opposite is true has fueled anger in many communities.
People want what they haven’t got and lack of a moral sense leads to the base response of violence.

You want to cure the inner city violence?
Get people to work.
The family concept can be rebuilt.
Whole communties can be rebuilt.
It’s not a hard concept but it is hard to put into practice.

If this approach was taken for as long as the handouts have been given [it ain’t happening overnight] there would be a change.
60-80 years, 3-4 generations……….nobody ever talks about this

This was in an email…

This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco, TX.

PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps.  No cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away.  If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid.  Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol and nicotine.  If you want to use drugs, alcohol or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing.  Ever live in a military barracks?  You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.  Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried.  If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job.  It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.  We will sell your 22-inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.”

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary.  If you want our money, accept our rules.  Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin your "self-esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self-esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.  The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

I love this one..

AND while you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE!  Yes, that is correct.  For you to vote would be a conflict of interest.  You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a government welfare check.  If you want to vote, then get a job.

End gun free zones for starters. It won't stop all of them but will help with some of them. Stop teaching people to be victims and instead, teach them to fight back. Today we tell people to line up against the wall and take it.

The same way you stop murders, rapes, and the sun rising every morning?

Fucking life is something liberals don't understand. They want to wrap the world in foam rubber womb to tomb as Rush Limbaugh used to say.

If you're going to allow crazy people to roam the streets without recourse these things are going to happen. You can't make the rest of us live in a "padded world" and we can no longer force the crazies into a a padded room. Until that gets worked out there will continue to be costs for these decisions.

You can stop by getting rid of gun free zones which do nothing but allow mass shooters free reign on unarmed victims.  A armed resistance is the best solution in the moment to stop the threat, and serves as a deterrence.

Beyond that, it's societal.

The big govt leftists trying to break down the family, religion etc. Leftist victim culture. How education has become radicalized by the left.

Of course, evil will always exist, so there will always be attacks. Being armed to stop them in the moment is the only solution.

Honestly it's a multi pronged issue, and I'm currently completing my Masters thesis specifically in School Shootings. Some of these will carry over to all shootings, some won't

Phase 1: prevention. Most school shootings that are prevented are done so by early detection by students, teachers, counselors, and parents who pay attention to their kids and see the signs. Not to mention the ones who notice things aren't right with their children and get them MENTAL HEALTH help.
Access restriction, keep people out that shouldn't be there.

Phase 2: response to active shootings. GTFO of the kill zone. Far away. If you can't, lock and barricade doors with everything you have. And if you have to: FIGHT.
Armed professionals in close proximity to the shooter. Most school shootings are ended in less than 5:00, usually either killed by LE/Security, or they kill themselves out of fear they will be killed soon. The faster rounds are fired at the shooter, the less lives will be lost. That's a fact. So SRO's and Police should be there.

Phase 3: save those that are survivable. EVERYONE in a school (or everyone in general) over the age of 15 should be taught basic trauma management such as bleeding control and tourniquets. Some gunshot victims simply can't be saved outside of an OR. Some can be saved by a person in the right place with a few hours of training, and $15 TQ.

Deduce what you will.
