EVERY BUCK From World Champion Bucking Bull SweetPro's Bruiser | 2017 |
50 years ago I'd have done it just for bragging rights.
I've ridden bulls. Rode bronks too. None were world class rodeo stock like in the video though. Those sumbitches sure do catch some air. Too old and decrepit to buckaroo anymore. |
I just want that winning megamillion ticket that Yankee from Michigan bought friday night.
That's DEFINITELY a spectator sport, in my book.
Guys don't get enough respect for what they do. |
A lot. I'm too tall for it. Cousin did it for a while, he's short and very well built and he did "ok" for a while.
Good gracious Bodacious
BODACIOUS - The Unrideable Yellow Bull - Rare unreleased footage |
I did it for $5 entry fee back in the 80's at an Green Country Junior Rodeo Association event on a maybe 500lb bull. Best time of my life and I rode 4 seconds with a clean but unplanned dismount. Would not do it now for any money.
Rode for fun, beer and nookie when I was younger. My decrepit ass won’t even get on a horse now. Pain actually hurts when you get older
BODACIOUS' TRIBUTE |
All the money plus medical expenses.
Bovines and I don’t get along. |
Yeah I'd rather get probed by Hunter. Bodacious scares the shit out of me just watching him do that hop skip thing he does right before he smashes the riders face. NOPE
Back in my wilder years I rode them for free, in a little private arena where rodeo bull breeders would bring the bulls out for practice. All the local shitkickers would go out and get wrecked by professional rodeo bulls just for bragging rights. I got my ankle stepped on and crushed, and also got 3 ribs broken when one tried to gore me. Seen a lot of other guys get a lot worse.
I've ridden a bucking horse and was thrown to the moon. More than once. I would think it would be comparable.
If your interested in the sport watch "fearless" on Netflix. It shows you what those guys go through to be at the top of the sport.
For me, with the vest, and the helmet, full medical and a LOT of insurance.......... about 10K would get me on one, without all those things, I am noping right the fuck out.
Used to could do it free if you got sentenced to Angola state pen. That's over now
Did it once in college when the rodeo team let me get on a bull during their practice. As fun as it was, haven’t felt the need to do it again in the ensuing 30 years.

View Quote I used to work with the guy that raised bodacious. That was his side gig was raising rodeo bulls. |
I value having fully functioning body parts, especially my spine. It's my favorite.
I don't have anything to prove to anybody. If you want to wear a helmet and color coloring books for the remainder of your born days, be my guest. |
In my younger days I'd do it for the nookie, now I'm hurting everyday enough without the extra bone jarring.
Noooooooope.
If I have to give a number, less than which I would refuse, Let's say 250,000 dollars. |
Oh, plus medical expenses. I bet my health insurance wouldn't let me do that.
I would have to be guaranteed triple what the hospital bill would be.
That's a big nope for me at this point. I doubt I would for any price.
No way, really amazing an animal that large can move like that.
I used to ride them semi professionally in high school and after mil. Used to get a sleeve of Copenhagen since they were a sponsor at every event, so I’d do it very cheaply.
Not anymore, I know better. |
Can I shoot it first?
Because there’s no way I’d ride a bull for any amount of money. The crazy, one-eyed mustang on the Pine Ridge ‘Rez was the last four-legged creature that wanted me dead, and tried its hardest to do the deed. “Heh-heh, let’s put the city Ind’n on Oglala, ‘cuz it’ll be funny...” |
Did it for fun in high school and college. Now? You can't print enough money to put a rope in my hand again.
Chicks sure did like rodeo cowboys though...even ugly ones! |
At my age at minimum a serious injury would be likely so no amount of money would be enough to do it.
Quoted: Rode for fun, beer and nookie when I was younger. My decrepit ass won’t even get on a horse now. Pain actually hurts when you get older View Quote This, a big nope there isn't enough money. Too old for that shit now. Not only does the pain actually hurt, it doesn't go away the next morning, or the next... |
I laugh at people that think they're tough guys. They've never strapped on 2000 pounds of pissed off. I have and I'm not a tough guy. Oh to be 18 again. I should be dead a long long time ago.
At 50? No thanks, what good is money if you're in a wheelchair.
Wouldn't do it for any amount of money. My spine doesn't have a price tag.
full paid medical + 100k cash probably would do it.
no medical, likely 7 figures. lots of your body is expensive to fix. |
Back when "breaking" horses was a thing.... I pissed blood more than once after taking a beating. My bull riding buddy told me I should try bull riding on one of his beginner bulls.
I said fuuuuuuuuuck no. Then again that was after a particularly bad ass kicking. Uninjured and sauced up I might have done it. ?? |
