14.5 bcm elw, not sure what it weighs but it’s not terrible. I could swap out the sopmod stock and exps3-0 for lighter options and drop weight.

Colt 6920, with lightweight Faxon match barrel, Fortis lightweight 15" MLOK rail, B5 SOPMOD, light and ACOG. I haven't weighed it, but it is sure as shit a hell of a lot lighter than my M4A1 SOPMOD.

Yeah, 223 is quite the powerhouse, about the same recoil impulse as 9mm parabellum AKA 9mm wristbreaker.

I have a ~3lbs 45colt rifle I built, it dislocates shoulders.

Yeh....LOL is right,,,,,because plastic handles 55,000 psi so well

Maybe you missed the part about polymer lower and upper.

Around a pound per inch of barrel length.....

Block II 14.5" Socom barrel, Razor 1-6, and nt4.  Fucking pig but accurate and dependable as hell after probably 2k-3k rounds.

My 10.3" CQBR Block II upper does cut down somewhat on the weight but still not a "light weight" upper by any means with the suppressor and ACOG.

However I have been toying around with a few 11.5" uppers that I built before the ammo scare.  They are barely even sighted in though.  I'm hoping that may give me the best of both worlds with some NVG capabilities as well.

16" 5.56 AR 15.  5.6 lbs with flashlight, angled grip, sling, and red-dot.  Empty / No magazine.  Intentionally relatively lightweight, but no expensive parts.

My "ultra-light" expensive build is a 20-inch (fluted barrel) 6.5 Grendel, 7.9lbs, with red-dot & 1-8x LVPO, light/laser, sling, vertical grip, etc & empty (no magazine).  If I ditch the LVPO & keep the red-dot, that's about 6.7lbs.

Dude, this 11.75” mid length gas system recoils so smoothly.

In this age of suppressed shooting being common we need to rethink the gas length systems.

Don’t know. But I take classes with my go to AR, plate carrier with mags, etc and overall, I weigh 26 lbs more with all of that than I weigh with just my clothes for the class.

- Suppressed SBR with T1
- Front and back plates
- 3 AR mags
- G19 and 2 spare mags
- IFAK

New 20" build with PA 2.5-10 could become the go-to.   With not super accurate scale = 8lbs, same as 16" M4 style with Aimpoint and magnifier.

I have an 11.5" middy faxon on a bcm qrf'd upper.  I'm digging it but haven't shot it enough to trust it yet.  It is definitely my new favorite atm.

Pic of rifle on a scale.  My Colt 6520 is 5.7 lbs.  No way an AR 10 weighs under 6 lbs with all the extra mass it has - heavier BCG, barrel, receiver and buffer than an AR. If it has carbon fiber and Ti parts I might believe it.

Well my “go to” rifle isn’t even an AR ... so there’s that.

But my two most sandbox-tier ARs are a 10.3” MK18 (probably 11-12 lbs loaded) and a 14.5” (probably 9 lbs loaded).

I don’t know. Like a little over 7.5 pounds loaded. It’s super light as my go to is extremely simple. No real bells and whistles standard setup with MOE furniture and a vortex strike eagle 1-6
