Yup, was about the same for us (not far from Osprey21) and was only gonna go up. It was a big factor in the decision to move.

It’s now $1200 here in WV.

$4983 annually

Dwelling cost $529,000

USAA.

I need to get a handle on this.   I can't guarantee that replacement cost on a 2000 sq ft ranch.   I may be overpaying on the replacement cost as well as using USAA.

I just called GEICO who quoted $3866 annually using Travelers Insurance.

LOL WUT? Seriously Clark? That is super expensive.

Are you in the mountains?

$3700 from USAA thinking of bailing but I have experience with a total loss and from what I saw USAA was awesome to the people in my area, I had Farmers and I was happy with my clam experience.

Every time we’ve dealt with USAA with our autos it’s been a good experience.

I paid a bit over $1300 last year for my home, Zilllow says $437k.
Not in a floodplain or area prone to wildfires, with stucco exterior and a tile type roof.

WAY too fucking much!   Nationwide forces me to insure my house for about TRIPLE what I could get for it on the market.   "Replacement cost" horseshit.  I know there's no point in switching, because insurance companies used to just insure your house.  Now they want to crawl up your ass as soon as you commit to them.  So another company is just going to just end up with the same BS, only more "inspection" hassles.

I'm confused by red.

Do you think there is no difference between market value and replacement value?  Or do you not want your policy to pay on a replacement basis for a loss?

I just went from $1900 / year with USAA to $1000 / year with Erie. $530k replacement cost and $400k personal property coverage.

ETA: Erie isn't available in all states, but it looks like it is available in WI.

Just paid my Erie premium for $977.00.

Now living in MD., and living in 2,000 sq.ft  home in suburban setting.

House value approx. $ 430 K.

I now feel lucky looking at what everyone else is paying.

Colorado went up significantly this year, ours went from almost $2,800 to $4,800, shopped around and got back down to $3,200 or so. This is on a 3,500 SF house in a neighborhood.

Prairie east of the Rockies.

I probably should discount that by the yearly refund we get.  Seems like it may be $800 - $1000, but I could be wrong.

$2k in SE FL about three miles from the Gulf with a brand new (summer of 2022) standing seam metal roof on a 2000 SF block home built in 1976 that appraises for ~$500k.  That is with a 5% hurricane deductible.  Another $400 for flood insurance even though the home is not in a flood zone.

Anyone have 2023 rates for Florida? I heard they have gone up a lot

I'm on the Space Coast, I switched companies and mine actually went down.
500k on the house, replacement value for the contents and 3% hurricane deductible put me at $2400 a year.
Lots of folks I know have been seeing increases.

7200 dollar premium, 10,000 dollar storm deductible. Plus another 900 for flood.

Save a few k in cash in a 5~6% dividend paying corporate short term ETF. Then increase the deductible limit to the max allowed. Basically you save the deductible amount on your own, gaining interest on it.
Switch insurance companies as often as you like. They have lower rates for new customers.

Check out Allstate Esurance. They have fair rates.

Jesus christ

I thought i was getting raped when liberty raised our rate allmost 40% this year.

From 1100 to 1500 but according to this thread thats still good with a insured stuff in the 400k range. Not flooding, wildfire or other dangerous area. Suburban, allmost rural.
