By childhood, I mean from when you were in the single digits.
I'm down to 2 and I'm only 56.

A few. I don’t really have any close friends from that age range but still have several that are at least Facebook acquaintances. One of the perks of going to school in a small town I guess is you spend time with the same kids most of your childhood even if you don’t stay close friends as adults.
Now friends and classmates from high school and early 20s Ive lost a few already
My ex wife who was my high school girlfriend and my sisters best friend since kindergarten and all through adulthood just passed away a couple days ago from cancer at 40. That is still kind of surreal even though we have been divorced since late 02.

Less every year.
I'm at the tail end of the "Danger Zone" of 60-65 and have lost quite a few lately.

I have no idea whatsoever!
I haven't seen, heard, or been in contact with any of them in over 50 years.

Other than a few kids here and there, I went to school with the same group of 30 to 40 kids from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Of that group, I know that one was killed in a cycle wreck.  One died of heart related issues.  Two died of alcoholism.  One died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.  I'm still in touch with many of them.

But, there are 10 or so who are in the wind, and I couldn't tell you where they are or whether they are alive or dead.

I'm 67 and all of them are.
Having said that, there is one guy that distanced himself from us all right after high school.  We've seen hime once about a decade ago and haven't heard from him since.  He could be dead and I don't know it.

Single digit age? Nobody. I had a friend that I met in sixth grade 1973, we were 11 and stayed in touch up until 2017 when he died of heatstroke.

Not a single one. All of us where inner city. All of us went for the military or crime, or both. I got out and moved to the country. I am the sole survivor.

I'm 67. About 15% (that I know of) are no longer with us.

I'll take a count at my 45 year HS reunion next year if I'm still alive. A good portion of us were together from 1st grade on. Sadly I know of several that have passed in the last couple of years.

I'm 68 and only one of my close friends is dead.

He burned out his brain on some kind of drugs back in 1972.  Lived with his parents after that.  Died 20 years ago .

Same when it comes to single digit age time frame. I've two close high school friends that are both still kicking. The sad thing to me is 8 people out of my graduating class (1981) of 35 are no longer with us. One was murdered, one died of an aneurism and the rest have passed from from drug/alcohol abuse.

I'll play.... I'm alone... all except 2 that I no longer talk to, died before the age of 50... cancer, suicide, accidents, and war. I'm going to be 55.  it is strange not having them here.. I have what I believe is called survivor's guilt... I question why I'm still here after the life I had and they are not.
I have come to the conclusion that my mission in life is not over yet.. life as fucked up as it is has something bigger planned for me.
a few of my favorite sayings... " each day is another"  " pain is your friend, it means you are still alive"

I'm 65.
I've had a couple of prep school  classmates and my college sweetheart pass away but I have no idea about earlier than 7th grade.

As far as I know they are all still alive.  I'm FB acquaintances with most of them and would have heard if someone croaked.

No idea - it's been a while and not in touch with anyone of that era

I know of at least two who were killed fighting the IRA - and a friend of a friend was killed by an A10 airstrike on a British convoy in Gulf War 1

Defining "friend" is difficult.  But the people who I considered friends at that time - none have passed away.  I am 52.  I did loose 1 friend, but he was a friend from when I was about 22.

While I have not lost touch with some of them, and a few might make the effort to attend my funeral if I died.  I really have almost -0- day to day contact with any.
---
One person who was on the marginal edge of that list got fighting mad at me because I asked him how his workmates were dealing with the transition of their boss.  Apparently they decided to fuck with the new boss, who is not bringing out a lot of suppressed evidence of the felonies they were part of with the old boss.  I really was hoping that he would have fallen inline with the new boss and "plan B" would not have gone down.  Oh well - liberals sometimes just have to go full retard sometimes.

Close friends are still alive.  I graduated in a class of 110 (in 1991), and only know of 2 who died.
It was a rural school, so I would likely hear if any one else had died.
