After replacing flooring with LPV, a bunch of my interior doors have a ridiculously large gap between the floor and the bottom of the door, like over 2" on some of them.

I'm replacing trim anyway so my plan is to remove the door, trim the bottom of the frame/jamb/whatever you call it and then reattach with those Quick Door Hanger things.

Is that a sound plan?

Also, what gap between door and floor is ok?  1/4"? 1/2"?

It'll be over LPV flooring.

Thanks

Most new construction is like 1.5" to allow for airflow.

Looks odd to me but you get used to it.

NFPA - no greater than 3/4"

Those are just for fire blocking doors, not regular residential doors. Unless that's changed.

Only need a decent gap if the ventilation lacks return vents in the room.

We're doing the same right now but decided once this flooring wears out we want to install wood flooring so I need to make sure I leave enough space so I don't have to redo the doors again.

We did 1 3/8” min for carpet but heating guys said you don’t need it like yesteryear because of multi zone heating/ cooling or something. As long as they clear floor/ rug/ carpet… they should be ok in newer homes.
Been a while since that conversation though.

I always leave a 1/4 inch on interior doors. If you want air circulation, open the door.
