Mark (joker1) and I go back serval years , I first met mark when he brought the suv off my husband. He came to the house to look at it and saw I had ALOT of dogs … he asked “how many dogs do you have ?”
Me…. “ do to my job occupation it’s best we don’t talk numbers “
Mark…” what do you do?”
Me…” I’m the animal control officer of Pendelton county and I run the animal shelter “
Mark walked over to me , shook my hand and said “I think we’re going to be really good friends “
I asked how many dogs he had and he replied “ due to your job occupation, it’s best we don’t talk numbers “
And after that he came to the shelter every Thursday to help and we always had a crazy case to work and he was always there for me, he taught me so much and still to this day I use the knowledge he shared . He was my best friend and rescue husband!
We work rescue together but always in different ways but we are both all about the dogs and what is best for them, I always say “ no dog left behind” and Mark did everything to save so many from Pendelton he helped set up transport and more than anything was there mentally for me, I see the ugliest side of humanity, and it gets hard and Mark always knew what to say to make me smile!! He gave me a shirt , a sheep dog shirt, and told me I was a sheep dog and I was part of his pack now, he would help me carry the weight of rescue with me so I wouldn’t be alone. I promised to keep his dream alive for him and I will never break that promise! And now you guys are my pack!!
!
Mark and I both loved saving lives, so what I do now is I am the rescue coordinator of the Pendelton county animal shelter in Kentucky, yes I live in Georgia lol but what I do is help dogs in the shelter get to rescues so they don’t get euthanized! I have a good team of volunteers that give me the information and pictures I need to do so then I set up transport and sometimes vetting too, Mark was one Of the volunteers that would help me! Now In Georgia licenses are very different for rescue so I work with the Renegade Rescue in Georgia, because my 501c3 means Jack crap In Georgia other than I am allowed to accept donations, so I foster and transport, help with adoption events, help with meet and greets I also am one of the few who can do medical and vaccines to help save money for the rescue, I do a lot of paperwork and a lot of trying to find fosters and adopters so I can take more dogs out of the local shelters here , I also help people that no longer want their dogs to find fosters and I help vet and get adopted so they don’t hit the shelter but I do it myself under the table lol like Mark ! I also have 3 beautiful daughters I have been married for 13 years and I take care of my mother , but I haven’t had to hide a body of ask for bail money so I must be doing something right ??????
