I like Desantis but I think he should bow out, just made too many mistakes this time.

The GOPe fucked him! They knew he couldn't beat Trump and that going up against him would hurt his chances for VP pick and 2028.

He was foolish to challenge Trump this time around.  It's just not time for DeSantis just yet.  Maybe after the Trump thing gets settled and out of the way, then, the spotlight can be on Ron.  I don't want to give him up as governor anyway.  I'm prepared to vote against him in the primary to make sure he finishes his term.

The Cult wants Trump. It was obvious and foolish of himn to try and  run. Problem he now has that no Trumper will ever vote for him in the future. Anyone that dares challenge Trump is a heretic to the Trump cult. Now DeSantis has ZERO chance in 2028 as no true Trump supporter would ever vote for him lest they tempt the flames of their Hell.

Thankfully next election will be stress free because I already know the outcome. And to top it off Trump said he doesn't need our votes anyway he allegedly has enough. Awesome Congrats. Hope it works out. If not. Oh well. I get to keep my actual Conservative Governor here in Florida

Not surprising coming from the guy that said he would vote Hillary Clinton and a straight D ticket if Cruz won the Primary.

DeSantis is on many levels above Trump as far as being Conservative. Hence why you guys hate him so much. More then Biden I would say.  But then again you guys have been proven to be no Conservatives at all

Basically you guys are like the Obama worshippers, jus the other side of the coin.

He might have screwed himself out of 2028. All he had to do was wait and run in 4 years. He would have been a strong favorite.

His best course of action at this point would probably be to drop out and say he is focusing on his job as Governor of Florida.  He might have a chance at the POTUS gig in 2028 but that depends on a lot.

I'd drop out, do a good job as Governor and then reassess the viability of moving towards a POTUS run in 2026.  That being said whatever led to this blunder would need to be addressed before considering another run....DeSantis is either delusional or is trusting people that are either incompetent or trying to sabotage him.

For about 6 months multiple YouTube personalities have been begging DeSantis to fire his marketing and replace them because they are terrible.  He's ignored that and carried on with his failed approach.  Even a couple weeks ago Patrick David Bet, who is voting for DeSantis, and had him on his podcast directly told him that his marketing team has terrible messaging and needs to be replaced.  DeSantis had a confused deer in the headlights look and asked what was wrong with his marketing team.  People have tried to help him but DeSantis has chosen to ignore all of them.

I think RD fully believes he is a better candidate than Trump and thought others would agree based on his results vs Trump's.

Sadly, he overestimated how much people care about results and care more about tweets and soundbites.

In fairness, he could have reasonably concluded that Trump would be in jail by the time the election actually rolled around.

Similar to how Newsom is just waiting in the wings for Biden to croak or withdraw.

But it does feel like Desantis is squandering his chance.

"Deer in the headlights" seems to be a common theme with him, recently. He'd been getting destroyed online on podcasts and memes for weeks over his "special boots" when he appeared on somebody's show and the host asked him about the them. He didn't know what they were talking about so they explained it to him. He claimed that was the first he had heard about it.

His team also put out a fake, AI-generated anti-Trump video and presented it as real footage. He claimed he didn't know anything about that, too.

So he's either oblivious to some pretty major things going on around him, or he's lying.

I really liked him, to start. I'm no longer impressed. At all.

He has no idea what's wrong with his campaign.

He should.  Enough supporters and influential people have pointed it out to him.  His responses are weak sounding.  Go back a couple years to when he was keeping Florida open and he had very strong responses to every attack on him.  He would call out Fauci all the time.  Now imagine DeSantis whined about policy from the Fed Gov but refused to say Fauci's name.  What type of little bitch is too weak to say the name of an opponent?  Well Ron's marketing team told him never to say Trump's name.  In order to do that he had to skirt around questions which made him look even weaker.  That is just one of many examples where is his response/marketing undermined everything else going on.

Here is DeSantis's response to Trump's indictment and possible need for extradition.  Even when talking about that specific case he refused to say the man's name (Trump) because his marketing team told him not to.  Ignoring the existence of someone is a weak move.  A strong confident leader would take on any opponent head on.  That is why DeSantis needs to fire his marketing people.  They have killed his campaign due to their bad advice.

The actual thing he did "wrong", was: Trump getting indicted. That's when the polls (if they are to be believed) completely flipped.
That's it.

Loyalty chip activated, "He's the victim, now that means he learned how to govern!!!!"

The debate became a screeching match about Trump Derangement Syndrome (loyalty and purity testing) from people with Trump Devotion Syndrome.

* This does not work on moderates who never went to a rally and have never been emotionally invested in him.

I think his marketing team has told him "ignore everything negative and pretend it doesn't exist".  Maybe he is using the same marketing people as Bud Light, as that is their approach now too.  Ignore Trump and don't say his name,  ignore the boots and act like you know nothing, ignore any criticism of you team and act like they are doing great.  That explains how Ron has been handling things.

He should've waited until '28 and finished out his term as Governor of Florida. I have nothing against the guy, hell I'll gladly vote for him if he ends up on the ballot- next year or further down the road. But winning reelection and immediately running for another office is always a bad look, IMO.

Senate is extremely possible due to the exact makeup of what states are up. We at least shouldn't lose any further seats.

The house...will probably be lost along with the presidency.
