Hell it used to be a thing. I know the power plant I worked at had a guy they would get to rewind the electric motors that went bad, but then at some point it was less expensive to just buy a new one. Now with material shortages I wonder if it would be cost effective to rebuild it and have it ready to run vs waiting no telling how long for a replacement. |
