The wife and I have an anniversary dinner on Friday night at a nice restaurant.

Was wanting to get an opinion on a tie to wear with my outfit (I am partially color blind) I think any of these would work.

Shoes/belt will be either black or burgundy.

Imo, none is a great choice, but of the three go with the one on the right in the photo.

I kind of dig the paisley, but I like a little more contrast with my shirt. Do you have anything a little lighter? What are you going with for your pocket square?

Reject those three and try again, unless any others are worse.

How about some more choices?

Open collar, add a good pocket square.

Second option is a white shirt with either of the two left ties.

Left or right. I prefer the one on the left.

Burn the middle one.

Just wearing a tie this days is pretty rare, I picked the middle, although I think I have the one on the right or one close to it.

For a time, I wore a tie every day, including the weekends just going to the store!

I have a couple dozen ties.

Tough crowd! Thanks VERY much for the feedback. Open collar is a possibility.

Pocket square choices are very limited.

White or light blue shirt is also possible.

can't go wrong with a nice paisley tie.

Since a white shirt is an option, I think that would look good with the paisley tie. I don't generally prefer matching pocket squares, but you could see how it looks.

Open collar only if it is a button-down, otherwise it isn't done.

Strike "possible" and substitute "better".

While I completely disagree about your button down collar post, I definitely agree with this based on his tie choices.

One simply does not wear a spread collar with a jacket and no tie.

It isn't done.

No self-respecting snob would ever do such a thing.

And no self respecting snob would ever wear a button down collar with a suit
