So a couple weeks ago we got in the Stoeger STR9. After handling it initially we found it very Glock-ish. Take it apart, it’s damned near an identical copy.
Today we took it down side by side with a Glock 19 Gen 4. Curiosity got the best of us, and we discovered the STR9 slide will go right on the 19 Gen4 frame. (But the 19 Gen4 slide won’t go on the STR9 frame) Not only will it go right on, the trigger functions and resets, and dropping a pen down the barrel and pulling the trigger, the striker launches it with authority. Attached File Stoeger left, Glock right Attached File Enhance....Stoeger left, Glock right Attached File Stoeger left, Glock right. Looks familiar... Attached File We were so obsessed with wondering if we could, we never stopped to ask if we should. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Stoeglock STR19 Gen4 Attached File |

Stoeger: Hey Glock, can I copy your homework?
Glock: I guess, just don't make it obvious you copied it. Stoeger: Hold my kebab and watch this... |

"Has science went too far?"
How about, has science GONE too far? |

Aesthetically, the Stoeger looks much nicer. Metal sights? Are the feed ramps on the barrel the same?
The name makes me think "Ruger SR-9" |

Wow, that has got to be violating some sort of intellectual property laws.
I mean.....right? |

Huh. If Glock sued S&W for the Sigma, Stoeger should definitely expect a lawsuit.

Curious if a Gen 3 slide would work.
Also wonder if you could make a Glock Magazine release fit. |

When your only gun design is nearly 4 decades old, you really shouldn’t be surprised when lower-tier countries like Turkey start building copies.

STR-9 is made in Turkey.
Mags do not drop free. They stop about halfway out (common complaint). Front sight on the one I fondled was slightly bent by 1-2 degrees (another common complaint) Trigger isn't bad but the safety blade is very prominent and tends to cut into your finger. Basic model only comes with one mag, one backstrap. Spare mags seem very hard to find. It's also a very heavy pistol. My recommendation: Don't spend $299 spend $249 on a Walther Creed from CDNN |

Godamn I feel dumb now. It's pretty fucking inconceivable that even a single person in the whole US wouldn't know the household name of stoeger. |

Peak Stoeger when everyone realizes the slide will fit their Polymer 80 Glock lowers. Oops.
