Do some of you realize how fucking ridiculous you are when someone points out an artist, says nothing about the art itself, and the only retort you come up with is "but HITLER!!!!?!". Smells like Godwin's Law up in here. Yeah, and digitally blocking it out or changing the angle to hide it tells you everything, if you have a working brain. |

No. It was not meant as an insult, but Chinese Communist Party to this day, sees it as an insult. Warhol painted him like a tarted up movie star (like Marylin) as a means on commenting on the concept of celebrity (Mao was the “most famous” person at the time) It wasn’t about Mao. |

You might shrug your shoulders at that, but the world would not. Frankly, I would think less of him in that situation. At best, these things are displays of "ironic edginess". But Mao killed 20 - 50 million people. I don't find that to be a suitable subject to display one's edginess. At worse (and more likely) he thinks Mao had a lot of swell ideas. I couldnt care less about the Mao print. I think if you have any Warhol print on your wall, your probably potato when it comes to art, but again i dont care. Guy wasn't even good at the simplest form of art, which is silk screen print making. But if cringe is what you like, go for it.

What is offensive? This Ford clown giving an interview about the subject of political suppression, with a portrait of the world's all time champion of political suppression hanging in the background. Yacking about Trump, the most vile leader of our time, when the actual most vile leader of all time is right behind him. Yet he's either a fucking idiot and doesn't know, or he's OK with it. |
