In your mag pouches, how do you keep you magazines,
Ammo down, or ammo up? |

[#1]
Chest rig, ammo up. Belt, ammo down.
Chest rig is more because of pmag covers, but it works for me. |

WTF...
Ammo always down, the only question is bullets facing forward or backwards. |

Keeping mags ammo up is beyond pants on head retarded..... because gravity.

[#9]
Ammo down bullet to the right (if you’re right handed) so you can draw and reload without having to do the whole mag juggle routine

Brass to grass bullets to butt.
When you grab the mag thumb goes on the spine to help guide the magazine Into the mag well. |

While I haven't been in a situation where I've had to keep partially used mags. My understanding is all partially used or empty mags go ammo up so you can tell the difference.
Or just use a dump pouch. |

[#29]
Quoted: Even that is barely debatable. Pistol mags are bullets forward always. Rifle mags should be bullets backwards when on the waist, bullets left on the chest for a right handed shooter. View Quote Wut? Pistol mags forward, rifle mags forward, bullets to the right on chest. That's how I do it anyway. |

I keep em up since it's a little slimmer at the top.
I had this thought when I was adding the alice 30 rounder pouch and the magazines were really bundled tightly. I couldn't get a finger between the magazine plates. That was just the usgi aluminum. The pmag plates are probably nightmarish. |

Down if your low crawling to the objective it keeps them debris free.

Ammo down, bullets pointing clockwise looking down.
Right handed shooter. |
|
[#40]
You decide whether the bullets face left or right based on how you like to grip the mag when you pull it out.
But I'm having a hard time seeing how bullets facing up would make for a smooth ergonomic reload. |

Ammo is always down.
Pistol is always forward or out for an index grip, never backwards. Rifle is back on belt or to left on chest if using a standard "Beercan" grip. Rifle goes forward on belt or to right on chest if using an "index" grip. I generally prefer the "Beercan" grip on rifles since it tends to be more efficient and universal between platforms. |

Quoted: WTF... Ammo always down, the only question is bullets facing forward or backwards. View Quote "Forwards or backwards" doesn't even make sense. Clockwise or counter-clockwise does, though (or towards or away from the body, if the pouches are designed for that instead). I keep ammo down, bullets facing clockwise. If I happen to be used something like the ALICE pouches, the bullets point away from me. |

Which way the mag points depends on the type of mag for me. Because AK mags rock in I beer can grab them so the bullets point to port side. AR and pistol mags I index with my index finger along the front while holding the bottom, so the bullets point starboard
