For those of you who are fans of the F4, I just found out Greece still has a good fleet of them.  They also have a mix of some other neat aircraft. Apparently they have one of the best airforces in Nato and very proud of it.

The Turks are still flying 48 F-4s.

The Turk F-4s were upgraded by the Israelis to "Terminator 2020" s...

so, would it be "interesting" to see an F-4 Vs. F-4 brawl in the skies?

Thats awesome. Those guys were incredible engineers to be able to design what they did without modern computers.

I have always wanted to go to Greece, if I ever do, then to find were the F4s fly from and hangout there for a bit.  I dont think outside of an airshow I have ever seen them fly.

I have my doubts that the mostly aluminum F-4 airframe could be pushed to M3.0.

As a guy who flew the iron wing F-4B/N's, I would love to have tried the canard bird. What I have heard about it previously has been very positive.

The air forces operating the F4 these days know that against more modern generations they will loose their airframes very quickly unless they can maintain air superiority for the F4’s (and for that matter the USAF’s A-10C’s) in airspace they are operating.

Never forget that quantity has a quality all its own. I’m certain that our USAF/USN/USMC Fighter pilots on here can address these issues far better than an old Huey Gunship pilot like myself.

Still love the Century series fighters and the F4’s.
