The band I work with just got the most incredible opportunity. To make a long story short, someone turned Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes onto them, and apparently he likes them so much that he invited them onto his tour with just a few days notice. Fortune Child is the band and they will be opening as the direct support for The Black Crowes on the dates they are not playing with Aerosmith. They literally just got done with a short east coast run playing small clubs of 50-100 people. They play their first show with The Black Crowes tonight in Virginia.

You might say they are under a little stress

The Black Crowes have been a HUGE influence on these kids, and I can tell you they are one of the band's Top 3 dream bands to open for, so I'm super happy they made this happen. Wish I could be there but I got a real job I'll catch one of the Florida dates next month. This whole story is nuts and I honestly thought it was a joke when I first got word of it.

NICE. I was going to catch that show but can't. I'll listen to them. Let's see what they got.

It will be "twice as hard as it was the first time"...

Edit: Its friday, the Crows will be squawking out of the Bose as I pour some drinks...

The Crowes got me through a long deployment in the 90s and I still listen to them.
I'll give your guys a listen too.

Have a good time!

That's weird I saw this thread, as I was just humming Shake Your Money Maker songs in the bathroom this morning.  SYMM was the first CD I ever got, I still own it, and it doesn't have a bad song on it.  Just rocks from one end to the other.

I've had Fortune Child on my Playlist since you turned us onto them here.  Good to see them get a break. My son's band recently got asked to open for a national touring act in late August at one of the nicer venues in town and it was a huge boost for the kids especially considering my son and one of the guitarists just graduated HS, the other two are still HS seniors.

I'd be willing the bet if Black Crowes hired them they saw the right stuff and will help with any learning curve they experience.  Band must be tight.

Huge Black Crowes fan. I even named one of my boys Chris and yes my last name is Robinson. LOL Its nice to see local musiciioans get a break. Most of the time they work harder and sound much better than the ones that have made it in the industry. I have a lot of local cover bands that I go see every time they are in my favorite venue.  I would prefer to support them over a bunch of stuck up clown that think they are better than everyone else because they got a record deal.

Yeah they’re really tight and well rehearsed. I know they will play their asses off tonight.

Not my thing...
Sounds like Blues Saraceno TV stuff to me.
Still, cool to get to play with their heroes.

I worked with a band like that about 10 years ago. Rival Sons. They went from playing tiny club shows to being on tour with us on Sammy Hagar. Awesome bunch of dudes and some slamming tunes. Really cool to see it all happen for some great people and skilled musicians.

Kind of like the music but whoever made that first video need to be waterboarded. It gave me a head ache in less than a minute

But I’ll be jammin to it on the drive home tonight!
