Could the russians even hit us nowadays?

Russian Prime Minster Dmitry Medvedev, who has said that Russia has lost 10 satellites in seven failed launches in just over one year

It's just a matter of time before someone sets off a nuke.

OP........are you talking about a full on 2000+ warhead exchange type of event?  If so it would make the game Fallout 3 reality but only worse.

There is an application somewhere on the World Wide Web that tells you all the area covered by the effects of nuclear weapons (fireball, pressure wave, radiation fallout) and includes every known nuclear weapon made by bigger counties since 1945. It has casualty estimates and allows you to place the epicenter anywhere you like as well. It's quite disturbing yet fun.

Racist.

Anyways, I always wondered what it would be like to time travel back about 10,000 yrs to see what it was like living on the planet with so few humans.

I'm not close enough, even in my decent sized town, to any military or civilian target.  I'm down.

There are so many shadow games going on in the world.  Proxy wars...  Factions...  Terrorists that don't represent a country...  Countries in pursuit of nukes who have said that they would use them.....

Then again, first strike strategies vs second strike are being discussed by governments.   Will the world see the use of nukes?  While I hope not, I think it's inevitable.

I have heard that only 4 times in the cold war our attack subs lost contact with a Soviet Ballistic Sub. I am pretty sure that the Russian Boomers would be sunk as soon as the doors opened on all deployed subs.
