Our golden got a lump on his neck the week before Christmas and the vet said it was cancer. His face started swelling on Monday the vet said there was nothing we could do. He stopped eating last night and we had him put to sleep this afternoon. Just got done burying him a little bit ago. Love them while you got them because they never live long enough.

Every night. I want to be the person they think I am. I get it. I'm sorry.

Sorry for your loss. Just had to put my lab down this morning.

I'm sorry man. Our oldest dog has lumps coming up as well, it makes me sick thinking about it.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. It happened so quickly I wasn't ready but I couldn't stand the thought of him being hungry and not being able to eat. I knew when he didn't eat last night and then this morning I gave him his treat he took but laid it down and didn't eat it that it was time.

Ah, shit.
Sorry, and my condolences, OP. They hide it as long as possible, many times once it becomes evident it's terminal. Dogs are tough. But in a way, better that then having years of pain, mobility issues, and suffering. RIP to your pup. |

Sorry OP. It can sure be a sorrowful thing. Been dogless for almost three years now because my wife don’t want to deal with the loss again.

Sorry op. We put my buddy down last Monday.
His belly was getting bigger for no reason, gallbladder cancer. My tough guy lasted for 5 months longer than expected. He never showed signs of pain, but we took him on one last camping trip and at the end of it we knew it was time. 14 wonderfull years. Man's best friend ain't no joke |

My pups send you good wishes in this tough time. Their names are Ace and Zeke. I am hugging my dogs for you and my son. He just lost his dog Bernie on Monday. Very sad.

Sorry for your loss...just went through the same thing in April

I feel your pain.
Ours was fine until he was eleven years old and then everything went at once. It was like he was on a timer. |

One of our six is 17+ years old. He's mostly blind, can't hear, has dementia, poops on the front step and pees largely in the house. He's 8% of the dog we once knew, but we love him the same. I am just happy he made it through Christmas, but his time can't be far off.
None of us, dog nor man, has as long on this Earth as we would like. We all have limited time. Use yours wisely. I am sorry for your loss. You will see him again, and when you do, you will know truly you are in Heaven. |
