With some of my downtime right now, I am starting online ground school.  I'm going with King, is the "Get It All" package worth the extra $200 over the Written & Checkride?  I imagine all of those resources are available for free online from the FAA?

I have time for ground school now but given some other commitments I won't start flying until 2022.  Any point in getting my medical now?  Only good for two years since I am over 40 right?

And I'm a little fuzzy on disqualifying medical conditions.  I had a stent placed 18 months ago.  No associated heart attack.  

From their FAQ:  Coronary heart disease that has been treated or, if untreated, that has been symptomatic or clinically significant

Don't get the medical yet if it's gonna be 2022 til you fly- you don't need it until solo anyway.

When you DO get it, get a third class- don't let anyone bullshit you into going 2nd or 1st. You don't need either one unless you're gonna try for a job flying- and even then, you don't need it until you GET the job- or start applying.

Next, go to AOPA's Medical Resources page and read up on your particular condition or use the questions feature.

I'll warn you now: Despite what the jaded cockpit warriors on this forum say, aviation is a drug worse than crack, especially early on.
