They didn't secure any cars and will only pay MSRP for them so asking the winners to make up the difference

That’s almost as bad as hosting a fraudulent election and then doubling down on it.

If I buy scratch-offs, I have no interest in any prize that isn't cash.

What horrible writing in that article.  I loathe the “G” trend of writing for thousands but to then go to the full numerical form later in the article and the back to the G at the end.  Do editors even read what they print anymore?

After you win it can you register it in Montana?

It says it also came with $250k. I don't think I'd be raising such a stink over the $10k difference, especially considering it said they'd cover taxes too.

Eta:  and I agree about the use of 'G' to denote thousands, and have fixed it in the quoted portion of the article.
The contest promised the $250k plus enough to buy a fully-loaded Corvette Stingray and cover the taxes and fees and he gets to keep the difference if anything is left over from the $107k allotment for the car.

The lottery supplies $ 107,000 to buy the car and he can keep the difference. He found a car under $ 107,000 but is complaining because he can't find one for list. A dealer offered him a car for $ 10,000 over list even though the dealer could get more than $ 10,000 over list. The dealer has no connection to the lottery and was under no obligation to do so.

Right?

Your error is that you are expecting a lottery winner to be logical and reasonable.

I guess whoever made the scratch offs accidentally included winning ones and caught Georgia officials by surprise as they never planned to ever giving any out.

$107,000 towards a corvette, rules were simple.  Quit bitching, they don’t owe you shit after the 107 plus the taxes and fees or whatever the deal was

That $107k should be more than enough to buy a nice Land Cruiser, which I would accept as an alternative to the UAW-DNC built junkheap.

If the Georgia Lottery had no affiliated connection to Chevrolet of any of their dealerships, and was going to let the winner keep the purchase difference anyway ... could I just buy some other car with that allocation?

My next door neighbor won a Corvette from a radio give away in the early 2000s.
They picked ten people and then the ten people got to pick a key fob and if it opened the door they won.
She was the tenth name drawn as a finalist. They drew numbers to see who got to go first and she drew number one.
She said it was like the air went out of the room instantly when she hit the button and the door unlocked. No one else even gotta chance.
She picked it up from the partner dealer and drove it straight to a different dealer and they paid her cash on the spot for the car.

Would you expect anything different to come out of Atlanta ??

I had business on a state level that required me to go that forsaken town .   I was told to keep calling the dept. as I approached Atlanta in order to check in with them .   I was told that when they get too busy they lock the doors and close the office .  A state office .  Who or what is running the zoo .

Un damn real .
