I have a Brother L8900 printer laserjet printer. It's served me well, and I have always used OEM Toner in it. I mainly used it for fear of damaging the printer and voiding the warranty. It's used to the point that I am less afraid of damaging it (leaking toner), and it's out of warranty anyway.

I'm thinking about using generic toner with it. A full set (1 black and 3 colors) of OEM toner is $550. The generic equivalent would be about 20% the price if you believe their page # ratings.


Anybody have any good/bad stories about using generic toner?

Generic is a crapshoot, sometimes they're fine, sometime they dump toner
