A former suburban Greenwood, MO, police chief who helped rescue a baby from an icy pond in 2018 and later assaulted the man accused of trying to kill the infant has pleaded guilty in the case.
.. Prosecutors have said Hallgrimson threw a handcuffed Zicarelli to the ground, punched him in the face and told Zicarelli, “You deserve to die,” after returning from the rescue mission to the Greenwood, Missouri, police station. .. Zicarelli had walked into the police station in December 2018 and said he had tried to drown his 6-month-old daughter in a nearby pond, police said. shouldn't have plead. I'm sure im not the only one who would've found him not guilty. idgaf
|
|
Yes they deserve to Die - Samuel L Jackson He should've gone with the Sam Jackson Defense |

Behavior that shouldn't be encouraged in a lawful society.
We're way past being a lawful society. Not guilty. |
|
I guess the chief was a Trump supporter......
Only crime that he is guilty of is not soundly beating the man to death. |
|
Should not have plead out just go to trail and get an acquittal

Clown world.
Dude should have been thrown, handcuffed, into the same pond. |
|
He really should have demanded a Trial by jury.
The great majority of people would find it excusable. |

Chief is correct…. Two cop threads this am…. One is cop bad if he goes old school… One cop is good cause he went old school… Dang, make up your minds.. |
|
|
The guy walked into the police station and confessed? Then was handcuffed and beaten?
|
|
Not guilty. As restitution for his troubles, grant him 5 minutes alone in a room with the sperm donor.
|
|
GUILTY!
Then I would have his sentencing (time served on the job) and the award ceremony / promotion at the same fucking time in the middle of town square at high noon. |
|
fuckin DA....go to court...no way I am convicting someone that beat up a chomo or a child abuser

A governor can only pardon for state/local convictions. So in this case, the governor could not issue a pardon. And there is zero chance Biden would pardon him. I'm guessing they hung over him possible criminal charges from the Jackson County Prosecutor, who is VERY anti-police, if he didn't take a plea deal with the feds. https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdmo/pr/former-greenwood-police-chief-indicted-violating-civil-rights |

Anyone who tries to find him guilty can go straight to Hell.

I understand his anger, most of us would probably respond in a similar manner. I would.
But at the end of the day he stood up, said yes I'm guilty. Props to him for taking the responsibility for his actions. |

Beating a handcuffed dude Handcuffed dude threw an infant into a frozen pond. He deserved to die, but got off lucky. Cop had amazing and commendable restraint. |

Quoted: The guy walked into the police station and confessed? Then was handcuffed and beaten? View Quote Yep, walked there after discarding his daughter in a semi-frozen pond, told cops what he'd done (tried to drown her and then just left her in the water and walked off). The cop who is the subject of this article then went to the pond, rescued the infant, came back to the police station, where he then threw down and punched the piece of shit. What's your point? Pick a side. |

Had this gone to trial I bet the jury would never be allowed to hear the circumstances that lead up to the beating.

Feds..
"Greg Hallgrimson, 51, pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday, the Kansas City Star reported. He was indicted in 2019 on a single count of violating the civil rights of Jonathon Zicarelli." |

Quoted: He really should have demanded a Trial by jury. The great majority of people would find it excusable. View Quote Probably, if the jury is allowed to consider the circumstances, and understands it's duty to nullify. Those are huge IFs. Most juries are going to be instructed that they must find you guilty if you did anything that meets the definition of the charge. When a deal that lets you immediately go home to your life is on the table and you're looking at a life altering sentence if you lose at trial a lot of people aren't going to take the risk no matter how justified or innocent they are. |

I note that the DOJ release mentions absolutely nothing about the circumstances regarding the actions of the "victim" >spit<. |

We are living ina clown world man. I have zero problems with the cop. Hell he should have beat him to death and claimed temporary insanity. That having been said the fact that the fed government wanted to hang him speaks volumes for the way the US thinks right now
