Anybody have any experience with them?
Attached File Yes I am aware of the video of the one left out in the Texas sun that got rubbery, apparantly that was a small early production run with bad polymer, and is not typical. |

Love mine, shoots great, best with can, shouldn't be as expensive as it is.
|

There are three 45ACP pistols out there you should consider buying.
Three being the number of the counting. Thou shalt not count to four. Five is right out. 1) SIG-P220 2) HK USP 45 Tactical 3) FNX 45 Tactical Anything else is subpar and crappy and don't approach these fine models. |
|
I had one. IMHO it's a $400- $450 gun with about $600 worth of ad ons. If you want all the features it comes with, get one. If not, I'd buy something else.

I have extensively shot the FNX 45 Tac and in my opinion there isn’t a better modern 45.

|
I held one and it felt right. The rubber frame video turned me off.

I ran a modified 40 Super conversion through mine and it held up to 165 gr pills going 1650 FPS... 220 gr @ 1350 FPS... Best damned polymer 45 made in my option. |

I love my base model, don't have the tactical. Wish I did for red dot's sake, but I'm more or less going the 9mm route for the moment with M&P. Never had much in the way of problems, but mags stopped dropping free without some aggressive cleaning every few hundred rounds.

View Quote I'm curious how small the production run was, and how atypical. I have yet to handle one with which my normal grip doesn't prevent mags from dropping free, despite how hairy my palms are But seriously, try dropping mags while actually gripping, not dainty finger-fucking, actually grip the thing. YMMV |

The one I tried had a great trigger and pointed well. But the safety dug into the top of my right thumb and was very annoying. Felt good in the hand otherwise.
|
|
I have the FNX tac and the HK USP
You can’t go wrong with either but I admit the FNX needs nothing if you want a RMR. For what it’s worth I did not like the FNX when I picked it up a the gun shop. It’s only after I put the flat grip insert that it felt good in hand |
|
I sold my HK45T knowing that I'd replace it one day with one of these. Strangely, I don't miss the HK a bit.

I loved mine when I had it. DA is awful, SA is pretty smooth. It’s heavy and huge, capacity is excellent and so is accuracy. I love the case and extras you get. Comes with suppressor sights as well and hosts up with the Osprey perfectly.

Squishy squishy squishy!
. . . . . . . . . . . . Lol, you read that in his voice. |
|
I've heard feral cats hate those things.... from a friend.
If you have a can, get one. |
|
On mine the frame was so rubbery a mounted laser could not hold zero. This was prob 8 or 9years ago so maybe it was part of that run someone mentioned. That said, it shot really soft for a 45,and was very accurate. FN bought mine back when it would not reliably feed a couple different types of cheap ammo. The mags were so tight I couldnt even load some rounds of Winchester white box into them which is known for not always being in spec but still. My HK45 fullsize ate it all just fine. To their credit FN gave me a full refund. If they have corrected the frame strength and the reliability it should be great.

I shot one recently and fell in love. Gonna need to get one.
With an RMR and a can, it's a dream. |
|
Love mine. It's my favorite pistol to shoot.
15+1 of .45 ACP Raised night sights RMR cut Threaded barrel Fully ambidextrous What's not to like? |
|
I have an FNP-45. I hate that gun. It's the most abused gun in my collection. I've tried to sell it and no one will buy it from me. So, I keep taking it to the range and shooting the hell out of it. It's an ugly gun, uglier than a Glock. It's heavy. The grip sucks. I busted the safety/decocker just dicking with it, but FN fixed it.
But I'll tell you what...I can blast the shit out of steel plates with that thing all afternoon...in a Texas afternoon, in the Summertime. |
|
Great gun. I'm not a very good pistol shooter but with a red dot I was easily making torso hits at 100yds with it
Felt very nice as far as quality and was comfortable to shoot. I don't recall any issues at all. |
|
Owned one, had one. I’ve got a hk45 now. I’m going to hold onto the hk45 for a long time.

The FNX Tactical is the finest stock duty and suppressor host .45 out there, and I say that as an owner and fan of both the USP .45 Tactical and HK45CT. Nothing out there can touch the features it offers OEM, and it’s a bargain for what you get.

Bought one for full sticker price. About $1.3k out the door. The very next week you could find them for $800-$900 in every gun shop.
I traded mine at a loss because it was cheap and rubbery for an acog TA-31. It holds 15+1 and it never malfunctioned in the hundreds of rounds I put through it. But I was not happy with it. It really is a $600 gun at best. I'm currently hunting for an HK45. |

Local gun shop has a sale $899. FN has a rebate, buy an FNX Tactical by end of April amd get three free 15rd mags ($150 value).
Should I fo? |

It’s okay. I sold mine. I didn’t like that the mags wouldn’t drop free.

I thought FN fixed that. Is that still the standard, or was that an early production thing? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Put a number of rounds through a pre-production model and it wasnt bad except for the trigger (which sucked). Ones that I've seen lately in class have been much better

Comparing it to other polymer frame handguns, it probably should be $600-700? I decided I still wanted a high capacity .45 for reasons and got a SAR K2 45. Other than lacking the threaded barrel, 1 round lower capacity, and RMR cut, God help me I like the SAR almost as well and it was under $400. I'm going to be doing some mods to it shortly to make it more FNX-like. Attached File |

I have an FNP standard with a EFK barrel.
It has been ridiculously good over the years. |
