Those of you that EDC everyday, do you also EDC an extra mag? If so, how do you police the extra mag while carrying? What about a simple pocket type pistol like a Sig 365 in a DeSantis soft tuck? I bought the 12 round mag for my standard 365 and it vastly improved the feel of the pistol. I no longer feel the need to run out and buy the XL. It also got me thinking about carrying an extra mag for some reason. For someone that uses a simple pocket holster, how do you maintain an extra mag? Separate pocket?

I have a dedicated mag/flashlight pouch I put on my left hip every time I put my gun on my right hip.
No, I'll probably never need all that extra ammo, but I like the weight of a 19rd mag and flashlight balancing out my G19. And what if my primary mag breaks, or I accidentally bump the mag release and it falls in a ditch? No downsides other than the internet nay-sayers who say I am somehow irresponsible to carry so much ammo. |

I keep 2 spare 21 rd Pmags for my Glock 19 in my front pocket.
I keep them in an Alien Gear mag carrier just to keep them originated correctly. "Stripping" the carrier off during a draw isn't an issue. Edit: If you wear jeans and have some simple sowing skills you can modify the back pocket to function as a mag carrier; For the record I don't wear jeans. |

G19 mag on the weak side for the handgun. Woe be unto you if you run that primary mag dry.

I always carry an IWB mag holder opposite side, if i'm wearing cargo pants, another in cargo pocket. Always have a go bag in the car with at least 1,2 mags, 1 in the glove box as well. The IWB poch i use is made by creatrill. It has a small magnet inside to hold on to the mag.

I put the xl mixer on the regular 365 upper. I carry a flush 12 mag in it and a 15 round mag spare in my pocket.

I considered the 15 rounder for my 365, but I didn’t care much for the look. Plus I normally pocket carry weak side in cargo shorts. I know that’s not ideal but that’s the way I do it. It seems like the 15 rounder would hang up when drawing from the pocket.

I carry a spare mag for whichever pistol I’m carrying. Weak side front pocket with neomag.

Neo mag in my front pocket. Don’t even realize it’s there 99% of the time

Wonder what percentage of EDC carriers even carry a spare mag?
|

I carry one spare G19 mag in a mag pouch at 11:30 for my G19.5 that I carry at 3:30-4:00

I carry 2 in an owb double mag carrier. I don't tuck my shirts so no worries there. Like another poster said it balances the weight of my pistola.

Right now have an M&P9 with a 23 round reload. I have 6 extra mags in my EDC pack.
In the summer I often switch to a Shield, but the way things are going, I'm not sure I will for 2021. |

I currently EDC a G17 and a spare full size mag.
ETA: A 33 rounder in the truck. And if I travel an extra mag in the bad. I also have a spare 50 round box of ammo in my truck. |

After I took my first intermediate pistol class, spare mag became mandatory.
I carry it in a mag carrier, specifically remora. I tried using a holster with a built in holster carrier. Very uncomfortable. |

Neomag. If I feel the need to add another with that I use a iwb mag pouch. Really only do that if headed into a bigger city or a trip a few hours from the house. I also keep spares in the vehicle as well.

View Quote I have been running my m&p9 the same way. 41 total rounds is decent firepower. Just went to St. Louis and I did add the second spare mag to be safe. Plus a s&w 442 for a backup. |

Glock 43X carried AIWB with 15+1 with the S15 mag.
If I feel the need for a backup mag, I go with an S15 w/ +5 extension in a Neomag in weak side front pocket. 36 rounds concealed on my body is enough to make me comfortable. |
|
Extra mag straight into my front left pocket.
Every issue I have ever had shooting, has always been ammo related. I always have a second mag |
|
glock 43x with an extra 15 round magazine in a fobus paddle style mag carrier, or a glock 43 with a spare mag in my left front pockey

Ruger LCP in a pocket. Extra mag in a different pocket, with other stuff. No other stuff in LCP pocket except pocket holster.

Spare mag in left front pocket, DeSantis MagPacker, works with single or double stack mags.

I carry 2 extra mags. I wear 5.11 Taclite Pro pants just about every day. If you're familiar, -I carry the extra mags in the small pocket just above the left cargo pocket. It holds 2 1911 mags (or 1 Glock mag) very well.

I'm a lefty. I carry a G43X on my left hip with a Shield 15-rounder and a spare 20-round Shield Arms mag on my right hip. I figure that 36 rounds of 9mm is probably enough to get me to my car where I have an AR, 8 mags, and a Glock 19 with spares (not to mention a LBV with hard plates).

|
I always have an extra mag. Weather it's in an OWB carrier with an OWB holster, in a sidecar appendix rig with firearm, or just tucked in a pocket
|
|
|
Pistol carried AIWB, spare mag carried on belt just behind my left hip.
I have enough shit in my pockets. |
|
I carry it in my pocket in a manner I can reliably withdraw it

For those that mentioned carrying larger mags as spares, how are you carrying them? Any Glock 33 round carriers here?
